Nauta Capital Reaches €60 Million First Close for Sixth Venture Fund

London-based Nauta, a venture capital firm that invests in B2B software and DeepTech startups across Europe, has reached the first close of its sixth fund at €60 million. The firm supports startups from the pre-Seed stage through Series A.

The British Business Bank, the UK’s economic development bank, led the funding as an anchor investor, committing €30 million. This is the fourth Nauta fund in a row that the bank has backed.

Other investors include SETT, Merifin Capital, and Institut Català de Finances, along with institutional investors and family offices from the UK, mainland Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East. Nauta said that three-quarters of the investors in this first close had also invested in its previous funds.

Carles Ferrer Roqueta, General Partner, Nauta, said, “Having invested through every major technology shift since the early 2000s, we’ve learned that enduring venture firms are built on discipline, adaptability and long-term conviction. This philosophy has enabled us to reach the rare milestone of a sixth fund, but more importantly it has strengthened our belief that every generation of technology brings with it a new wave of exceptional companies. We’re incredibly excited about what lies ahead and the role we can play in shaping the next era of European innovation.”

Founded in 2004, Nauta is one of Europe’s longest-running early-stage investment firms. The company has supported more than 200 founders across 100 companies. It typically invests between €250,000 and €4 million in startups from the pre-Seed stage to Series A. So far, its investments have generated nearly €3 billion in exit value through more than 25 successful exits, including Brandwatch, Holded, and Connectbase.

Nauta focuses on investing in B2B software companies that aim to grow their businesses efficiently. Its investment areas include travel, finance, retail, and human resources (HR), where software can help businesses improve their operations and services.

Like its previous funds, Nauta’s sixth fund will continue supporting early-stage DeepTech startups through the Nauta Capital Labs Initiative. This dedicated investment vehicle will focus on pre-Seed companies working on technologies such as high-performance computing, AI infrastructure, cybersecurity, industrial automation, digital health infrastructure, and advanced energy technologies.

“Our long-standing partnership with Nauta Capital demonstrates the role the British Business Bank can play in attracting international investors to the UK. Since our first commitment, Nauta Capital has built a substantial presence in London and established the UK as a core investment market for them. This is helping to bring more capital, expertise and international connections into the UK venture ecosystem, helping innovative businesses to grow and strengthening the UK venture market over the long term,” said Michael Laycock, Investment Director, Funds, British Business Bank.

Nauta has also invested in several other companies, including Unravel, an AI-powered platform that helps people discover and book travel; Acai Travel, which uses AI agents to handle customer support for travel businesses; and Lodgify, a platform that helps property owners manage short-term rentals.
