Kutlerri.ai, a Texas-based startup developing AI agents for the restaurant industry, has raised $4 million in funding from Houston-based Narahari Investments. The company plans to use the capital to expand its existing AI-powered catering sales agent and develop additional agents designed to increase restaurant revenue and control operating costs.
Founded by Kiran Rana and Payal Tripathy, Kutlerri.ai is building AI agents that handle specific business tasks for restaurants. Rather than simply tracking sales or expenses, the company’s technology is designed to carry out work that can directly affect a restaurant’s financial performance.
Its first product, the Catering Sales Agent, is already live in most major US cities. The new funding will support its expansion and help bring more AI agents into restaurant operations.
Kutlerri.ai Targets Restaurant Revenue and Costs
Restaurants use a wide range of software for ordering, payments, marketing, and operations. However, Kutlerri.ai is focused on a different goal: helping restaurants increase revenue and reduce costs through AI agents that perform specific tasks.
The company points to the financial challenges facing the industry. According to figures cited by Kutlerri.ai, US restaurants are expected to generate $1.55 trillion in sales this year, while 42% of restaurants were unprofitable last year.
Restaurant profit margins can be thin, making even small improvements in sales or expenses important. Kutlerri.ai aims to help operators improve those numbers by automating work that would otherwise require additional employees or substantial time from existing staff.
Its business model is based on results, with each AI agent performing a defined job for a restaurant and the company getting paid based on outcomes.
Catering Sales Agent Helps Restaurants Win More Orders
Kutlerri.ai launched its Catering Sales Agent first because catering can bring restaurants larger orders than individual customer transactions, yet many businesses lack the staff to pursue catering opportunities consistently.
The agent is designed to manage both inbound and outbound sales activities.
For inbound requests, it can answer calls, send proposals, and help close catering orders. For outbound sales, it identifies businesses within a 30-mile radius that may need catering and reaches out through multi-touch campaigns.
The goal is to help restaurants find new customers and secure orders without relying entirely on third-party marketplaces, which the company says can charge commissions of 15% to 30% and retain the customer relationship.
How Kutlerri.ai Tested Its Technology
Before expanding the product, Kutlerri.ai spent 10 months developing and testing its Catering Sales Agent within RASA, a five-location fast-casual restaurant group operating in the DMV region.
According to Kutlerri.ai, the agent generated $450,000 in new catering revenue for RASA. The company says that figure was more than 10 times the amount RASA paid for the service, and the results were achieved without hiring additional staff.
These figures were provided by the company and have not been independently verified. They illustrate the type of financial outcome Kutlerri.ai aims to deliver as it expands its platform.
More AI Agents Planned for Restaurant Operations
Kutlerri.ai is developing additional agents to address other parts of restaurant performance. These products are intended to help operators increase sales, optimize marketing expenditure, manage food and labor costs, and reduce waste.
The company’s planned and developing agents include:
- 3P Sales Agent: Designed to increase third-party delivery revenue.
- 3P Marketing Spend Optimization Agent: Aims to reduce inefficient advertising expenditure associated with delivery sales.
- Prime Cost Optimization Agent: Focuses on food and labor costs, two major restaurant expenses.
- Online Sales Agent: In development to support online sales growth.
- Daily Prep and Waste Control Agent: In development to help restaurants manage food preparation and reduce waste.
The company says it will launch each agent only after confirming that it solves a real operational problem, that restaurant operators are willing to pay for it, and that its value is clear.
Why This Funding Matters for Restaurant Technology
Many restaurant technology products help owners monitor performance, manage transactions, or analyze data. Kutlerri.ai is positioning its platform around taking action rather than simply providing information.
Its AI agents are designed to perform tasks such as contacting potential catering customers, preparing proposals and helping manage operating expenses. This approach could offer restaurants another way to expand their capabilities without increasing headcount at the same rate.
The $4 million investment from Narahari Investments gives the company capital to scale its catering product and continue building its broader AI agent platform.
As restaurants face pressure to protect margins while growing sales, tools that can demonstrate measurable financial results may become an increasingly important part of restaurant technology.
About Kutlerri.ai
Kutlerri.ai introduced its Catering Sales Agent first because catering can give restaurants orders, than individual customer sales yet many companies don’t have the people to keep chasing catering chances all the time.
