Homa, an Austin, Texas-based AI-powered homebuying platform and licensed real estate brokerage, has raised $5 million in seed funding to expand its operations in California and introduce mortgage lending services directly through its platform.
The funding round was led by Quiet Capital, with participation from Restive Ventures and Cambrian Ventures. The company also plans to launch a mobile app later this year.
Founded by CEO Arman Javaherian and co-founder Federico Campeotto, Homa aims to simplify the homebuying process by bringing property searches, home tours, offer negotiations, closing services, and mortgage financing together in one place.
Homa Uses AI to Simplify Homebuying
Buying a home can involve multiple steps including finding properties, arranging tours, negotiating offers and securing financing. Homa aims to bring these activities together through a single platform supported by AI and licensed real estate professionals.
Its AI technology uses state-specific laws, property data, and real estate information to provide buyers with pricing insights, risk analysis, and offer strategies.
The platform combines these tools with local specialists who arrange property tours and experienced in-house brokers who help buyers prepare and negotiate offers.
Homa currently operates in California, Florida, and Texas. The company launched in Florida in 2025, expanded into Texas in June 2026, and began a soft launch in California on September 1, 2026.
New Funding to Support California Expansion and Mortgage Services
Homa plans to use the $5 million investment to expand its presence across California and launch mortgage lending services within its platform.
The mortgage feature will allow homebuyers to explore financing options without being referred exclusively to an outside lender. By bringing financing into the homebuying process, Homa aims to connect mortgage decisions with property selection and offer negotiations.
The company also plans to introduce a mobile app later this year, giving buyers another way to access its services.
Quiet Capital led the seed round, joined by Restive Ventures and Cambrian Ventures. The funding is intended to support Homa’s growth as it expands its integrated homebuying model.
How Homa Plans to Help Buyers Save Money
One of Homa’s main selling points is its buyer credit. On eligible transactions where the seller offers a buyer-broker commission of up to 3%, Homa says it retains 1% and credits the remaining amount—typically around 2% of the purchase price—back to the buyer.
According to the company, these credits have averaged more than $10,000 and can exceed $40,000 on higher-priced properties. The actual amount depends on the transaction, commission terms and applicable requirements.
Eligible buyers can use the credit toward closing costs, a mortgage rate buydown, or a reduction in the purchase price, subject to the applicable rules and lender requirements.
Homa says its model is designed for buyers who conduct much of their own research but still want professional support with property tours, pricing, and negotiations.
Licensed Brokers and Local Specialists Support the Platform
Although Homa uses AI to provide information and help buyers develop offer strategies, the company also relies on real estate professionals.
Local specialists handle property tours, while in-house brokers prepare and negotiate offers. Homa says its in-house brokers have more than a decade of experience and hundreds of completed transactions.
The company’s model combines technology with licensed brokerage services, aiming to give buyers access to property information and professional representation while reducing some of the traditional costs associated with buying a home.
Who Founded Homa?
Homa is led by co-founder and CEO Arman Javaherian, who previously worked as a senior director at Zillow. The company was also co-founded by Federico Campeotto, a computer scientist with a Ph.D. in artificial intelligence.
The founders are building the platform around the idea that buyers increasingly research properties and financing options themselves but still need reliable data, experienced negotiation support and affordable access to professional services.
With its new funding, Homa plans to expand in California and bring mortgages closer to the center of the homebuying experience.
