Sirona Medical, a company developing cloud-based software for radiology, has raised $40 million in Series D funding round to expand its AI-powered platform and support its growing customer base.
The round was led by Avidity Partners, with participation from 8VC, GreatPoint Ventures, KLT Holdings, and other new and existing investors.
The company said the funding supports its operating plan indefinitely, allowing it to continue developing its technology and expanding its services without an immediate need for additional financing.
Sirona Medical’s platform, called RadOS, brings together several radiology tools in one system, including picture archiving and communication systems (PACS), diagnostic image viewing, reporting, worklists, and AI-powered workflow tools. The platform is designed to help radiologists manage medical imaging more efficiently and reduce the need to switch between separate software systems.
Since its public launch in November 2023, Sirona has signed agreements, with customers at hundreds of different sites. The company says that its system handles than 12 million primary imaging tests each year according to the contracts.
Sirona Medical Reports Strong Business Growth
As of September 30 2026 Sirona had revenue growth that was 2.5 times higher compared to the year. At the time the contracted annual recurring revenue, for Sirona went up 2.7 times.
Platform usage also increased, with PACS archive usage growing 2.5 times and the number of diagnostic reports submitted through the platform doubling year over year.
The company is also preparing for further expansion. It is contracted to onboard more than 1,000 additional radiologists over the next 12 months.
Sirona reported that its average new-customer contracted ARR reached $1.07 million over the trailing 12 months. Its average total contract value over the same period reached $5.10 million.
“Sirona’s mission has always been to accelerate the transition to AI-powered healthcare globally,” said Cameron Andrews, Founder and President of Sirona Medical. “We pioneered a new category of software in 2018 to accomplish this, and thanks to the confidence of our customers, partners, and investors, Sirona now has the permanent capital necessary to deliver this vision to tens of millions of patients a year and at global scale.”
“As the industry confronts a radiology staffing crisis, Sirona’s customers are growing capacity faster than any other defined segment of the U.S. radiology market,” said Ken Kaufman, Chief Executive Officer of Sirona Medical. “We’re proud of the capacity we helped our customers build this year, and look forward to deploying RadOS to more practices, hospitals, health systems, and international markets in 2027.”
“Sirona is the category-defining company in cloud-native radiology,” said Jacob Garfield, Partner and Managing Director at Avidity Partners. “Sirona’s customers are achieving above-market volume growth in their practices and delivering care at a faster clip.”
Funding to Support AI Development and Customer Services
Sirona plans to use the funding to strengthen its customer services operations, expand its AI capabilities, and support its growing network of radiology professionals.
The company has appointed Anders Osterholm, a 25-year veteran of medical imaging software company Sectra, to lead its Client Services Organization. Sirona is also opening new offices in Burlington, Vermont, and Cincinnati, Ohio, as it expands its US-based implementation and 24/7 customer support teams.
Another priority is the commercialization of Sirona Cortex, the company’s agentic AI orchestration layer. The technology is intended to help coordinate AI capabilities across radiology workflows.
Sirona is also developing the Sirona Network, which connects radiologists and healthcare organizations through its cloud-native platform. The company says more than half of its customers already collaborate in some way through RadOS. During 2027, it plans to refine tools that help private practices and health systems work together more effectively.
Sirona Plans International Expansion
Beyond the United States Sirona intends to launch Sirona Global before the end of 2026. This move will grow Sirona’s operational presence in international markets such as the United Kingdom, the European Union, South Africa, New Zealand and Australia.
Sirona also plans to release a series called “Built on Sirona.” The series will share customer stories and detailed looks, at the RadOS platform. It will show how radiology clinics use Sirona’s software to solve problems and change their workflows to use AI in healthcare.
With its funding Sirona Medical wants to reach more places make radiology workflows better and help health providers use AI more effectively in medical imaging.
