Oslo-Based Solvera Secures €5.62 Million to Transform Construction Engineering with AI

Oslo-based Solvera, a company developing an AI-powered engineering firm for the construction industry, has raised €5.62 million (US$6.3 million) in a pre-Seed funding round.

The round was led by Seedcamp, with participation from Construct Venture, Inception Fund, Momentum, Obos Ventures, PSV Tech, Sondo, and The Nordic Web Ventures. The round also attracted angel investors, including Anders Kvåle and Håvard Haukeland, the founders of Spacemaker.

Mirza, co-founder and CEO of Solvera, said, “We’ve had twenty years of better building engineering software, and now AI, but productivity and the fundamental way engineering gets delivered has barely changed. Technology is only part of the answer. To capture its full potential, you also have to rethink how the firm operates and how it makes money. That is incredibly difficult to do inside organisations built around thousands of people, active projects and billable hours.

“That is why we decided not to build yet another tool for engineers that doesn’t move the needle in how work gets done. We are building the engineering firm itself around AI.”

Founded in July 2026 by Arif Mirza, Pål Rasmussen, and Thorvald Thorsnes, Solvera is an AI-powered engineering company focused on the construction industry. It combines experienced building engineers with its own AI technology to design and coordinate building systems, starting with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) services.

Solvera uses its own technology platform to manage the engineering process from start to finish. Instead of charging clients for software licences or consulting hours, the company charges for the completed work and the results it delivers.

The company manages each project from the initial requirements and design limitations to a complete, coordinated design that is ready for construction. Its goal is to make the engineering process more efficient and reduce the work required from clients.

Solvera’s AI agents handle a large part of the engineering work, while experienced building engineers provide expert judgement and oversee important decisions. By combining AI technology with human expertise, the company aims to deliver reliable building designs more efficiently.

“The most valuable thing in building engineering has always been the engineer’s judgement, yet much of their day goes to sorting a constant stream of information and changes, manual data entry, and coordination. Our goal is to free up their time so they can focus on high impact decisions, with our agents handling the rest like testing alternatives, coordination, and production work,” said Pål Rasmussen, co-founder and CTO, Solvera.

Tom Wilson, Partner at Seedcamp, said, “We invested in Solvera because Arif, Thorvald and Pål are not just building software for engineers, they are rebuilding the firm itself. That is a much bigger swing, and a much better one. Construction has absorbed two decades of tooling without shifting how the work actually gets delivered or paid for. Solvera is the first team we have seen with the technical depth and industry experience to close that gap, starting with MEP and expanding from there. This is what the next generation of professional services firms looks like.”

Solvera will use the new funding to grow its engineering and technology teams in Oslo, Norway, and open an office in London. The company also plans to improve its AI-powered platform and expand into more markets as its business grows.
