Fission Raises $10 Million in Series A Funding Led by Pantera Capital

Fission, a financial technology company building liquidity infrastructure for tokenized investment funds, has raised $10 million in Series A funding round led by Pantera Capital.

The round also saw participation from investors across traditional finance and the digital asset industry.

The funding arrives as more investment funds look into blockchain technology to create, send and complete investment products. Yet many tokenized funds still run into problems, such, as chances for investors to sell their shares only a few windows to redeem and limited ways to borrow money.

Fission aims to address these challenges by building a liquidity platform for investment funds. With Fission technology eligible investors, in supported funds can access capital immediately without waiting for the redemption period.

The company’s platform supports tokenized funds across several asset classes, including private credit, alternative investments, and other institutional financial products. Fission says it has already processed millions of dollars in transactions and is expanding its capacity through both traditional financial markets and on-chain sources of capital.

“Putting funds on-chain is only the beginning,” said Jonathan Shaffer, Founder and CEO of Fission. “The real promise of tokenization is creating fundamentally better markets around these assets: broader distribution, continuous liquidity and the ability to use fund interests as collateral in lending markets. Whether a fund is private or simply constrained by traditional liquidity structures, Fission is building the technology that makes those assets more liquid, transferable and useful across financial markets.”

Fission is built for investors and permissioned markets.

Fission’s design checks investor eligibility, transfer restrictions and compliance rules that come with investment products.

Fission’s goal is to provide liquidity while keeping the controls that are required in securities markets.

The new funding will help Fission expand the range of investment funds supported by its platform, increase liquidity capacity, and develop more integrations with institutional financial firms.

“Investment funds are moving onto digital rails and liquidity is one of the critical pieces required for that transition to reach its full potential,” said Franklin Bi, General Partner at Pantera Capital. “Fission is building infrastructure that will help transform tokenized funds from representations of traditional products with legacy constraints into fundamentally more liquid and productive assets.”

Alongside Pantera Capital, the funding round includes Circle Ventures, Borderless Capital, and Ari Rubenstein. Existing investors include New Form, gumi Cryptos Capital, Anthony Scaramucci, Manhattan Venture Partners, Reflexive Capital, and Lattice Capital.

Fissions team brings experience from institutions such as Point72 and Securitize.

Fissions team has expertise, in trading, private‑market distribution, tokenization and regulated securities markets.

As more financial products move onto blockchain networks, Fission aims to make tokenized investment funds easier to trade and finance by building the infrastructure needed to support broader institutional adoption.
