Godspeed Capital Management has acquired GreenVest, a US-based environmental services company specializing in ecological restoration, wetland mitigation, stormwater management and environmental consulting. The financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
The acquisition expands Godspeed Capital’s presence in environmental infrastructure and creates a platform for further growth in restoration and nature-based solutions. The private equity firm plans to work with GreenVest’s management team to expand its services, invest in talent and pursue additional acquisitions.
Headquartered in Bowie, Maryland, GreenVest provides environmental infrastructure services to public and private sector customers. Its work includes wetland and stream restoration, water quality improvement, environmental permitting, regulatory compliance and stormwater management.
The company also develops nature-based resilience projects designed to restore ecosystems, improve water quality and help communities prepare for environmental challenges.
“We are excited to partner with the GreenVest team to execute the next phase of the Company’s evolution,” said Doug Lake, Founder and Managing Partner at Godspeed Capital. “GreenVest has established itself as a market leader at the intersection of environmental restoration, regulatory compliance, and sustainable green infrastructure. With strong demand for watershed protection, resilience investments, and nature-based solutions, we believe GreenVest is exceptionally well-positioned for both near- and long-term growth.”
“GreenVest has established a highly differentiated position in an attractive, fragmented market supported by favorable long-term environmental and regulatory tailwinds,” said James Reid, Partner at Godspeed Capital. “We see a compelling opportunity to build on GreenVest’s technical reputation, execution capabilities, and culture by investing behind organic growth, expanding service capabilities, and pursuing strategic acquisitions that broaden the platform’s geographic reach and customer relationships.”
“GreenVest has always been driven by a mission to create lasting environmental value while helping our customers navigate complex ecological and regulatory challenges,” said Doug Lashley, Founder of GreenVest. “We are thrilled to partner with Godspeed, whose strategic vision, sector expertise, and growth-oriented approach make them the ideal partner to help expand GreenVest’s impact and reach.”
“Godspeed brings significant experience in building and scaling specialized services businesses, along with a deep appreciation for our culture, technical capabilities, and customer-first approach,” said Brett Berkley, Chief Executive Officer of GreenVest. “Together, we will continue investing in our people and pursuing new opportunities to better serve our clients.”
GreenVest operates across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeastern United States, with additional offices in Baltimore, Maryland, and Tranquility, New Jersey. It works with customers to meet environmental regulations while supporting long-term ecosystem restoration and sustainable infrastructure development.
As part of the transaction, GreenVest Senior Vice President Brett Berkley has been appointed chief executive officer of the company.
Godspeed Capital intends to use GreenVest as the foundation for building a larger environmental infrastructure and restoration business. Its strategy includes expanding the company’s geographic reach, adding new services and strengthening relationships with customers.
The acquisition is Godspeed Capital’s latest platform investment through its Fund III. It follows the formation of JP Donovan Construction and GALT Aerospace, which support the firm’s broader investment strategy across defense, government services and other mission-critical industries.
The deal comes as environmental restoration, water management and infrastructure resilience remain important areas for public and private investment. GreenVest’s existing capabilities could help Godspeed Capital expand its presence in these markets through organic growth and future acquisitions.
With the new ownership, GreenVest is positioned to pursue additional opportunities in ecological restoration, environmental compliance and sustainable infrastructure across the United States.
