Abby Care Raises $82 Million in Series C Funding to Expand Family Caregiving

Abby Care, a healthtech startup helping family members become trained and paid caregivers, has raised $82 million in Series C funding. The round was led by Transformation Capital, with participation from CVS Health Ventures, Frist Cressey Ventures, and Pivotal Ventures. Existing investors Khosla Ventures, Thrive Capital, and Sequoia Capital also invested in the round.

According to reporting from Fortune, the latest financing will help Abby Care expand its services, improve caregiver training, strengthen its technology platform, and enter additional state markets.

The company helps family members care for children, older adults, and people with disabilities or chronic health conditions. Through its platform, relatives can receive training and become paid caregivers, allowing patients to receive care at home from people they know and trust.

Abby Care Uses Technology to Train Family Caregivers

Abby Care provides training, onboarding, and payment infrastructure for family members who want to become professional caregivers. Its platform helps them navigate state-sponsored programs and meet the requirements needed to provide paid home care.

The company combines clinical oversight with AI-powered tools to support caregiver training and care coordination. It also helps document the care provided and communicate relevant information to healthcare systems and health plans.

The approach is designed to make family caregiving more accessible while helping healthcare organizations monitor care and identify potential problems earlier.

“We’re living through one of the largest healthcare workforce shortages, a rapidly aging population and waitlists of vulnerable children needing care,” Abby Care founder Havi Nguyen wrote on LinkedIn, explaining how Abby Care’s raise will augment home care. “Clinicians can’t see what’s happening in the home, so changes in health go unnoticed until they become emergencies. All of this strains a reactive health system and drives up costs.”

Startup Aims to Reduce Healthcare Costs

Abby Care aims to help patients remain safely at home rather than requiring unnecessary nursing services or institutional care.

By training family members to provide appropriate care, the company hopes to reduce avoidable hospitalizations, identify health concerns earlier and improve coordination between caregivers and healthcare providers.

Its model also creates an opportunity for family members to receive compensation for care they might otherwise provide without pay.

Abby Care operates as a Medicaid provider in Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Tennessee. The company plans to expand into additional states as it builds more partnerships with healthcare payers.

Funding to Support Expansion and Care Technology

The $82 million Series C round follows a $35 million fundraising round in August 2025.

Abby Care plans to use the new capital to expand its specialized caregiver training curriculum, enter additional state markets, improve its care coordination technology, and establish more reimbursement partnerships with healthcare payers.

Led by Havi Nguyen, Abby Care is building infrastructure to help families navigate the complex process of becoming eligible, trained, and compensated caregivers.

The company’s growth comes as healthcare providers and policymakers look for ways to support aging populations and people with complex care needs while managing rising healthcare costs.

By combining family caregiving, clinical support, and technology, Abby Care aims to expand access to in-home care and reduce pressure on the wider healthcare system.
