Felix Pago, a Miami, Florida-based fintech startup focused on cross-border payments for Latin America, has raised $200 million in combined equity and debt financing.
The funding includes an $87 million Series C equity round led by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), with participation from QED Investors, Castle Island Ventures, Switch Ventures, Contour Venture Partners, and Endeavor Catalyst.
The company also secured a $113 million warehouse credit facility led by General Catalyst’s Customer Value Fund.
Founded in 2020 and led by CEO Manuel J. Godoy and CTO Bernardo Garcia, Felix Pago operates a WhatsApp-based remittance platform that allows users to send money across borders through text or voice messages.
The company uses artificial intelligence, natural language processing, and machine learning to handle tasks such as identity verification, exchange-rate calculations and compliance checks.
Its platform connects traditional banking systems with local payment networks to complete international transfers quickly.
Felix Pago has processed more than $8 billion in money transfers and currently operates across 11 countries, including Mexico, El Salvador, Colombia and Ecuador.
The company has also added mobile top-ups, allowing users to purchase phone plans for family members in their home countries.
The new funding will be used to expand its liquidity and treasury network, grow its AI and engineering teams, strengthen regulatory compliance and accelerate customer acquisition across the Americas.
Felix Pago also plans to expand beyond remittances into additional financial services, including lending and savings products for Latin American immigrants in the U.S., as well as enter new markets such as Brazil and Venezuela.
