Veckta Raises $11 Million in Series A Round

Veckta, a San Diego-based energy technology startup, has raised $11 million in an oversubscribed Series A funding round led by Origin Ventures.

The round also included Tech Square Ventures, VoLo Earth Ventures, Cove Fund, Catalyst by Wellstar, Engage, Emerald Bay Ventures, She’s Independent Investments, and Mobilize AI x Energy Ventures. VoLo Earth Ventures previously led the company’s $3.3 million pre-seed round in 2022.

Veckta will use the new funding to expand its US customer team, improve its software, build partnerships, and grow its network of energy suppliers. The company also plans to develop tools to help businesses manage onsite energy systems throughout their lifecycle.

Veckta helps businesses and property owners determine whether installing solar panels and battery storage systems can reduce their energy costs. Its software analyses more than 5,000 data points, including electricity prices, grid emissions, power outage risks and available incentives to assess a project’s financial potential in under a minute.

The platform also connects businesses with more than 3,000 vetted energy suppliers. It compares supplier proposals based on factors such as pricing, equipment, warranties, past performance, and eligibility for incentives.

Rising electricity prices are encouraging businesses to explore alternative energy sources. However, choosing the right supplier and comparing project costs can be complicated. Veckta aims to simplify this process by helping companies evaluate energy projects and select suitable providers.

According to CEO Gareth Evans, the company has analysed around 34,000 customer sites. Its analysis found that 37% could achieve positive returns from solar power, battery storage, or both under current conditions.

Veckta reported that customers signed contracts for 128 sites in 2026, covering projects ranging from small retail installations to large manufacturing facilities.

The company works with businesses and property owners, including Enterprise Mobility, Lithia & Driveway, Phillips Edison & Co., and Regency Centers.

With its latest funding, Veckta aims to expand its platform and help more businesses make informed decisions about onsite energy investments.
