ScribeUp, a Los Angeles-based fintech startup, has raised $13 million in Series A funding to help consumers manage recurring bills and subscriptions through their banking apps.
The funding round was led by Curql Collective, with participation from Mucker Capital and Service Ventures. The total includes $10 million in equity financing and a $3 million venture debt facility.
The company will use the funds to improve its AI technology, expand its team, and support sales and business growth.
Founded in 2020 by Jordan Mackler and Yohei Oka, ScribeUp provides technology that helps banks, credit unions, neobanks, and fintech companies offer recurring bill management directly through their digital platforms.
Its software allows customers to identify recurring payments, track subscriptions, cancel unwanted services and update payment methods without leaving their financial institution’s app. The platform can also use AI to identify potential savings and alert users when upcoming bills could leave their accounts short of funds.
ScribeUp initially tracked hundreds of common subscription providers. With the help of agentic AI, the company says its platform can now track around 200,000 unique subscription billers.
The startup provides its services to more than 60 financial institutions, helping them offer customers better visibility and control over recurring expenses.
ScribeUp plans to invest further in AI-powered intelligence and automated actions, allowing its technology to do more than track payments. The company aims to help users find savings opportunities and manage recurring financial obligations more easily.
As subscriptions, insurance payments, rent, and buy now, pay later services become more common, ScribeUp is positioning its platform as a tool for financial institutions seeking to improve digital banking services.
