Spanish Drone Startup FuVeX Raises €3M to Expand Civil and Defense Operations

FuVeX Raises €3M

Spanish drone technology company FuVeX has raised €3 million in funding to expand its business across Europe and Latin America.

The funding round was backed by SODENA, SEGO Venture, Izertis Ventures, and several family offices with investments in the industrial, agricultural, and innovation sectors.

The company plans to use the new funding to grow its commercial operations, strengthen its presence in the defense and security markets, increase its manufacturing capacity, and expand into industries such as agriculture, oil and gas, and other critical infrastructure sectors.

Founded and led by CEO Carlos Matilla, FuVeX develops long-range drones for both civil and defense applications. Its technology helps companies inspect and monitor large infrastructure, such as power lines and pipelines, especially in remote or hard-to-reach areas.

The company’s platform combines unmanned aircraft, operational software, and AI-powered data analysis to detect problems early and help operators make faster maintenance decisions.

FuVeX currently holds authorizations to operate beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) drone flights of up to 10 kilometers, allowing drones to fly longer distances without remaining in the operator’s direct view. The company also holds eight patents covering its proprietary technology.

Its customers include major energy companies such as UFD-Naturgy and Endesa.

With the latest funding, FuVeX aims to expand internationally and meet the growing demand for advanced drone solutions in infrastructure monitoring, security, and defense.
