AI Startup Pinegap Raises $8M Series A to Expand Equity Research Platform

Pinegap Raises $8M

New York-based AI startup Pinegap has raised $8 million in Series A funding to grow its AI-powered equity research platform.

The funding round was led by Stellaris Venture Partners, with participation from Inventus, Silicon Valley Quad, and DeVC.

The company plans to use the new investment to expand its engineering team and strengthen its go-to-market efforts.

Led by CEO Deepak Sharma, Pinegap develops an AI platform that helps investment firms automate equity research. Its customers include hedge funds, long-only mutual funds, and registered investment advisors (RIAs).

The platform works with investment teams to understand their research process and creates custom AI agents tailored to each firm’s investment strategy, private data, and reporting style. These AI agents automatically generate research reports based on market events or scheduled updates, helping analysts save time and improve productivity.

Pinegap says it has already deployed more than 1,000 AI agents across over 100 institutional clients. Together, these AI agents generate more than 50,000 research reports every month.

With the new funding, Pinegap aims to further develop its platform, hire more engineers, and expand its customer base as demand for AI-powered investment research continues to grow.
