Ravical Raises $17 Million in Seed Funding to Expand Its AI Platform for Accounting Firms

Ravical, an AI startup developing technology for accounting and tax firms, has raised $17 million in seed funding. The company will use the money to improve its products and expand into international markets.

The funding round was led by MMC Ventures, with participation from existing investors Lakestar and Pitchdrive, as well as new investor Shapers. The latest investment brings Ravical’s total funding to $25 million.

Founded in 2025, Ravical was started by Joris Van Der Gucht (CEO), Ken Bastiaensen (CTO) and Benjamin Vandermarliere (CPO). The company has built an AI-powered platform that helps accounting and tax firms manage their work and make better use of their employees’ knowledge and experience.

Ravical helps firms turn the knowledge of experienced professionals into standard processes that teams can use across different clients. This makes it easier to manage tasks consistently and improve how accounting and tax services are delivered.

The company aims to address key challenges in the accounting industry, including growing demand for advisory services and difficulties in hiring and retaining skilled professionals. According to Ravical’s research, 70% of UK small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) now act on AI-generated advice without consulting their accountants.

Ravical’s platform helps firms use AI across their operations instead of relying on individual employees to adopt separate tools. By making internal expertise available across teams, the company aims to improve efficiency, provide better client services and help firms find new business opportunities among existing clients.

Joris Van Der Gucht, co-founder and CEO of Ravical, highlighted the importance of adopting AI at an organisational level rather than relying on individual employees to use separate tools: “When every employee uses their own assistant in their own way, the individual gets better, but the firm doesn’t. We turn how a firm’s best people work into a shared way of working that AI carries out across every client.”

Mina Samaan, General Partner at MMC Ventures, said: “Accounting hasn’t yet seen the same transformative moment that legal tech has, with firms like Harvey and Legora demonstrating what’s possible. Most of the AI startups we’ve met in the space are building point solutions for a single task or workflow. We don’t believe the winners will be the firms that replace their people. Rather, they’ll be the ones that make their best people count across every client. That’s what Ravical is built for. More than 100 firms are already on the platform, which is the clearest sign yet that the profession is starting to change. We feel very fortunate to have found Joris, Ken and Benjamin, and we’re delighted to be backing them as they continue to expand into new markets.”

More than 100 accounting firms across Europe are already using Ravical’s platform. The new funding will help the company improve its technology, grow its team and expand its presence in the UK, Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany. Ravical also plans to enter more European markets and expand into the US.
