HelmGuard Raises $7.3 Million to Expand AI-Powered Risk and Compliance Platform

London-based governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) and security startup HelmGuard has raised $7.3 million in Seed funding. The company helps businesses automate risk and compliance assessments.

The funding round was co-led by Infinity Ventures and Frontline. FinTech Collective, Stage 2 Capital, and Entrepreneurs First also participated. The funding will help HelmGuard expand its platform and grow its business.

John Daley, co-founder and CEO of HelmGuard, said, “Many existing compliance platforms were designed primarily to document processes rather than support operational decisions. He said the company’s approach is intended to reduce the manual work involved in gathering and reviewing risk information. Our agents go to the source to collect and assess risk signals directly, abstracting away the manual data collection and assessment work that burns thousands of hours annually. This funding lets us bring that capability to far more teams and extend it to governing the AI agents being deployed on other workflows.”

HelmGuard was co-founded by John Daley, its CEO and a former Palantir executive, and Jack Miller, its CTO. The company is building a platform that uses specialised AI agents to assess risk information directly from a company’s systems.

The technology is designed for industries where strong regulations are important, including financial services, insurance, healthcare, and industrial companies.

Traditionally, risk and compliance teams use questionnaires, documents, and manual checks to review risks such as third-party risks and security controls. As companies work with more vendors and use more AI systems, keeping these checks updated has become more difficult.

HelmGuard brings risk, security, and compliance information together in one connected system. Its AI agents can automate tasks such as third-party risk management, control gap assessments, and AI agent checks. The platform also provides sources and reasoning details, while keeping humans involved in reviews and reports for auditors and regulators.

HelmGuard will use the funding to expand its business in the US. The company plans to build a presence in New York and San Francisco, while keeping its headquarters in London.

The company also plans to grow its engineering and commercial teams and further improve its AI agent assurance technology.
