Swedish security and defence technology company Freya Industries has raised €533,000 (SEK 6 million) in an oversubscribed funding round. The company develops affordable and intelligent sensors for security and defence applications.
The new funding will help Freya Industries deliver customer orders, grow its team and expand its operations across Europe.
The round attracted investment from Foundry Ventures, Longswan Ventures, Propel Capital, Saminvest through Annexstruktur, Schyssta Änglar, Sting and selected private investors.
“Our sensors don’t just record information, they proactively understand what is actually happening. The intelligence sits in the software, so they can be cheap enough to go everywhere, whether they protect a person or a site,” says Jonas Åström, founder & CEO of Freya Industries.
Freya Industries develops technology for security and defence. Its products include drone detection systems, intelligent personal protection devices and sensors designed to protect important infrastructure.
The company’s drone detection technology can identify both a drone and its pilot. It combines smart software with different detection methods to provide reliable results at an affordable cost.
Freya is also developing intelligent personal alarms for professional users. These products are designed to improve safety for workers while its other sensors help monitor and protect critical infrastructure.
All of Freya’s products connect to its analytics platform. This gives security companies and their customers a live view of their sites and staff. The company also uses its own AI models to identify potential risks before they become serious problems.
Freya has focused on certification, security and reliability while developing its products. This allows its hardware and software to operate safely in demanding and challenging environments.
