Barcelona-Based Artiso Secures €3M+ to Transform Fashion Design With AI

Barcelona-based FashionTech startup Artiso has raised more than €3 million in a pre-seed funding round. The round was completed entirely through equity investment. The company is developing an AI-powered operating system designed to help fashion teams manage their work more efficiently.

Criteria Venture Tech led the funding round and has supported Artiso since the company came out of stealth. Other investors include Swanlaab Venture Factory and Bynd Venture Capital. Business angels David Tomás, co-founder of Cyberclick, and Nicolaj Reffstrup, founder and former CEO of GANNI, also participated in the round through Look Up Ventures.

“I spent years leading creative teams that had to orchestrate every step of a collection across tools that never spoke to each other. So we built the operating system we always needed: one that knows each brand’s archive, its customers and its taste, and that is already running inside fashion companies today. AI is changing how every collection is imagined, made and shown, and with Artiso, creativity, not complexity, defines fashion’s next era,” said Sarah Iglesias Hiller, co-founder and CEO, Artiso.

Artiso was founded in Barcelona in 2025 by Iglesias Hiller, Lucas Pastur Romay, who serves as Chief Product Officer (CPO), and Matthias Brenninkmeijer, the Chief Technology Officer (CTO). The founders previously worked at Mango and have been working together since 2022.

The company came out of stealth in July 2025. It is building an AI-powered operating system for fashion brands that brings different stages of work together, from finding inspiration and designing products to product development and pre-production. The platform also supports tasks such as creating technical packs, styling and campaign images while using each brand’s own data and knowledge.

According to Artiso, the fashion industry has significant potential to benefit from AI. Fashion brands develop many products and must adapt to changing trends and customer preferences every season. The company aims to help fashion teams manage these changes and work more efficiently with AI.

“We designed Artiso for the people who make fashion: creative directors, designers, pattern makers, merchandisers. It is intuitive, it remembers each brand and adapts to how every team works, and it connects every step, from the first moodboard to the tech pack and the campaign, in one operating system,” commented Pastur Romay.

Brenninkmeijer said, “Fashion imagery is where AI first proved its value, and Artiso takes it further: every image, sketch and tech pack is created with an understanding of the brand behind it. Our agents combine state-of-the-art generation with each brand’s own knowledge, while people stay in control of every decision. That is what turns AI from a tool into a new way of working.”

Artiso plans to use the new funding to improve its AI operating system, grow its team and help more customers adopt the platform across their businesses. The company is hiring people in both fashion and technology. Its team brings experience in garment technology, pattern making, design, art direction, motion and data science.
