Broccoli AI, a San Francisco-based startup developing AI agents for home-service businesses, has raised $52 million across two funding rounds: a $22 million Series A and a $30 million Series B.
Khosla Ventures led both rounds, with participation from Y Combinator and Operator Partners. The company is valued at $300 million post-money, according to a person familiar with the matter.
Founded by AJ Jain and Aditya Ketkar, Broccoli AI develops software that helps home-service businesses automate customer communications and daily operations. Its AI agents answer incoming calls, schedule appointments, follow up on service estimates, renew memberships, and connect with existing scheduling systems.
The platform serves businesses across plumbing, heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), electrical services, and other home-service sectors.
AI Agents Help Contractors Manage Customer Operations
Broccoli AI was inspired in part by the needs of home-service operators. The founders met Marcelle Flowers, owner of Sacramento-based Armstrong Plumbing, who initially had doubts about using AI. After seeing how the technology could automate appointment reminders and handle customer calls, Flowers became the company’s first customer and later joined as its chief operating officer.
More than 1,500 businesses now use Broccoli AI, including Ace Hardware Home Services, Mr. Electric, and Any Hour Group.
The company says its AI agents have handled more than 10 million customer conversations and booked 2.5 million service and sales appointments. Its technology can perform work equivalent to roughly 30% of a typical contractor’s office staff, according to the company.
CEO AJ Jain said revenue has tripled since the Series A round. The company’s workforce has also grown from 15 employees a year ago to more than 150.
Funding to Support Hiring and Product Development
Broccoli AI plans to use the new funding to hire more engineers and salespeople and accelerate product development. The company also aims to expand its AI capabilities across the customer journey, from initial calls and appointment booking to follow-ups and long-term customer engagement.
By automating repetitive administrative tasks, Broccoli AI aims to help home-service businesses manage customer demand more efficiently while allowing staff to focus on service delivery and business growth.
