&Truth, a public benefit corporation developing technology to mathematically verify software, has emerged from stealth with $70 million in seed funding.
The company was founded in early 2026 and aims to make software verification more accessible and scalable as AI-generated code becomes increasingly common.
The company is building a universal verification system designed to analyze code across programming languages and mathematically prove that it meets defined safety, security, and correctness requirements. Its proofs are intended to be independently checked.
&Truth says traditional software testing, monitoring, and code reviews cannot guarantee that code behaves as intended. The company aims to address this challenge by combining AI with formal verification, a mathematical approach to proving software correctness.
“AI transformed mathematics because Lean and Mathlib gave it a precise language for reasoning,” explains Clark Barrett, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of &Truth. “Software has lacked an equivalent foundation. Once we can state precisely what code must do, AI can help prove that it does it, at a speed and scale previously out of reach.”
“Trust in software should rest on independently checkable proof, not any company’s word, including ours,” says Ilya Sergey, Co-Founder and Chief Science Officer of &Truth. “Mathematical proof can establish that code meets precise requirements across all possible inputs, under clearly stated assumptions. Our mission is to bring that level of trust to the world’s software.”
“AI is now breaking code at superhuman speed. ‘Good enough’ is no longer enough. In the AI era, even 99% safe is certainly broken,” says Chris Hsu, Co-Founder, Co-CEO, and Executive Chairman of &Truth. “We must move from hoping code works to proving it does.”
“As AI adoption scales, trust and safety will become increasingly important to how companies can deploy AI with confidence. &Truth’s international headquarters in Singapore will deepen our capabilities in this area, while strengthening Singapore as a base for companies to develop trusted AI solutions,” said Low Jin Yong, Senior Vice President and Co-Head of Digital Industry Singapore.
According to the company, AI can accelerate formal proof generation by 100 times or more, while its own automation technology aims to deliver another 100-fold improvement. This could reduce verification processes that previously took months or years to hours or minutes.
&Truth is also developing “specification factory” technology to translate human intent and business requirements into precise formal specifications. These specifications can then be used to verify whether software meets the required standards.
The company is building on Lean, an open-source proof system, and other technologies, including CSLib. It is working with the Lean Focused Research Organization and the broader open-source community, with plans to release its foundational libraries as open source.
&Truth builds on research in formal verification and automated reasoning at Stanford University and the National University of Singapore. The company has its U.S. headquarters in Palo Alto and international headquarters in Singapore, where it plans to expand its research, engineering, product, and commercial teams.
The company aims to help developers verify AI-generated and legacy software before deployment, while creating independently checkable guarantees for critical systems. It aims to establish an open standard for provably safe software as AI development accelerates.
