Wrapped Health, a healthcare technology startup connecting clinical care with consumer health products and services, has raised $2.1 million in pre-seed funding. The round was co-led by Lightbank and Arteria Capital, a healthcare AI fund founded by Russell Glass.
The company will use the funding to expand product and engineering development, integrate with more electronic health record (EHR) systems, and build partnerships with healthcare providers, health systems, and digital health platforms.
Wrapped Health aims to address a gap between clinical recommendations and the products patients purchase. While prescriptions, lab results and imaging are increasingly digitized, recommendations for over-the-counter medicines and other everyday health products often remain disconnected from healthcare systems.
“Patients can buy almost anything with one click, except the products their doctor tells them they need,” said Max Russell-Harris, co-founder and CEO of Wrapped Health. “Healthcare has built digital systems for prescriptions, labs, and imaging, but there’s still a huge gap when it comes to everyday health products. We’re building that missing connection. It shouldn’t matter whether you’re seeing your local doctor, visiting a major health system, or getting care online. If your provider recommends something, getting it should be the easy part.”
“Every prescription, lab and scan gets sent, tracked and filled. The doctor’s ‘go buy this’ walks out the door on a sticky note,” said Eric Ong, Partner at Lightbank. “Wrapped Health turns that recommendation into a one-tap order and delivers it the same day. We are excited to back Max and the team, and believe that Wrapped Health can be core infrastructure for clinician workflows.”
“One thing I’ve learned building consumer health companies is that convenience is what drives people to take action,” said Russell Glass, founder and general partner of Arteria Capital and former CEO of Headspace. “Yet there’s a huge disconnect between the guidance patients receive from healthcare providers and the products and services they need to manage their health. Wrapped is building the AI-native infrastructure to close that gap, creating an enormous opportunity to connect traditional healthcare with the growing consumer health economy.”
The company is building AI-powered infrastructure that connects clinical guidance and consumer health commerce. Its platform is integrated into electronic health records and utilises clinical context to customise recommendations and connect patients with relevant products and services throughout their various care stages, including pregnancy, chronic condition management, and post-surgical recovery.
Wrapped Health also connects patients with trusted retailers and helps them use available flexible spending account (FSA) and health savings account (HSA) benefits. The company aims to make it easier for patients to act on their providers’ recommendations while helping healthcare organizations extend engagement beyond appointments.
The platform is available through the athenahealth Marketplace, reaching more than 180,000 clinicians across the athenaOne network.
Founded by Max Russell-Harris, Wrapped Health is based in Washington, DC. The company plans to use its new funding to expand its technology and partnerships as it works to connect healthcare guidance with consumer health products.
