A huge “Welcome to Vice City” sign has been installed on the roof of the Kaseya Center. The arena is home to the NBA’s Miami Heat. The large lettering was lifted onto the building by helicopter and has quickly become a talking point among GTA fans.
The installation is part of Rockstar’s promotional campaign for Grand Theft Auto 6. The game is one of the most anticipated releases in the gaming industry.
The massive “Welcome to Vice City” sign now sits above the Kaseya Center in downtown Miami.
The location has an obvious connection to GTA 6. The upcoming game returns players to Vice City which is Rockstar’s fictional version of Miami.
Fans had already been watching the sign take shape before it was moved onto the arena roof. The helicopter installation added another layer of attention to the campaign.
According to Miami Herald journalist Doug Hanks, Miami-Dade County is expected to receive $975,000 from Rockstar under the reported marketing agreement.
The size of the deal shows how much attention Rockstar is putting behind the launch of GTA 6.
The Kaseya Center sign may not be the only marketing activity planned by Rockstar in Miami.
Rockstar reportedly spoke with Miami officials in August about possible promotional activities in the city. Discussions reportedly included events and the possibility of a marketing takeover at Miami International Airport.
These plans have not been confirmed by Rockstar.
For now the Vice City sign is the most visible part of the company’s reported Miami campaign.
The reported agreement also has an interesting timeline.
Documents reviewed by IGN reportedly say the sign will remain on the Kaseya Center for the later of one year after installation or until the final Miami Heat home game of the 2026-27 season.
The final regular-season home game is scheduled for April 11, 2027.
If the agreement follows that schedule the “Welcome to Vice City” sign could remain above the arena for months after GTA 6 launches.
The documents reportedly list October 15 as the deadline for installing the lettering. Rockstar has not announced any special event connected to that date.
Grand Theft Auto 6 is currently scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026.
The game is expected to be released on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
The Miami marketing campaign gives GTA 6 a physical presence in the city that inspired its fictional Vice City setting. The reported $975,000 agreement also shows the scale of Rockstar’s promotional plans ahead of the launch.
Whether more GTA 6 events appear across Miami remains to be seen. For now the giant Vice City sign above the Kaseya Center is already giving the city a very visible reminder that Rockstar’s next Grand Theft Auto game is getting closer.
