Renata Medical, a Newport Beach, California-based medical technology company focused on improving care for children with congenital heart disease (CHD), has raised $25 million in Series D financing.
The round was led by ARCHIMED, a global investment firm focused exclusively on healthcare, with participation from the company’s existing investors.
Renata Medical plans to use the new funding to expand U.S. commercialization of its Minima™ Stent System, enter international markets, advance its pipeline of pediatric-specific cardiovascular technologies, and support continued clinical evidence generation as adoption of the device grows.
The Minima Stent System is a balloon-expandable growth stent specifically designed for neonates, infants and young children with conditions including pulmonary artery stenosis and coarctation of the aorta.
The device received FDA premarket approval in August 2024, marking an important milestone for Renata Medical and pediatric cardiovascular care.
In August 2025, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) granted Minima a New Technology Add-on Payment (NTAP) designation. The designation provides hospitals with additional reimbursement support for eligible use of the technology.
With the latest round, Renata aims to broaden access to Minima in the U.S. while preparing for expansion into international markets.
“Adoption of the Minima™ Stent System has exceeded our expectations since commercial launch in 2024,” said Dustin Armer, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Renata Medical. “The support and participation of ARCHIMED is further validation of what we are building and of the growing opportunity to transform care for children with congenital heart disease”
“Children born with congenital heart defects have too often been treated with devices built for adults and many face repeat procedures simply because their implants cannot grow with them” said André-Michel Ballester, Managing Partner at ARCHIMED and former CEO of LivaNova. “Having spent much of my career in cardiovascular devices, I have rarely seen a technology address so clearly an unmet need. We are proud to back the Renata team as they scale the business and advance a pipeline of purpose-built pediatric therapies.”
Founded in 2019, Renata Medical develops, manufactures and commercializes cardiovascular devices designed specifically to address unmet needs in pediatric patients.
Led by co-founder and CEO Dustin Armer, the company is focused on developing purpose-built technologies for children with congenital heart disease and supporting improved treatment options for pediatric patients worldwide.
The Series D financing is expected to help Renata accelerate commercialization of its Minima Stent System while continuing to develop its broader pipeline of pediatric cardiovascular technologies.
