Siena, an AI-powered customer experience platform for consumer brands, has raised $17 million in Series A funding to expand its AI agents and customer service infrastructure.
The round was led by York IE, with participation from Joyance Ventures and existing investors Aglaé Ventures and Sierra Ventures. The latest investment brings Siena’s total funding to $29.7 million.
Founded in 2023, Siena helps consumer brands automate customer interactions across support, shopping, social media, messaging and voice. The company says hundreds of brands, including FIGS, SPANX, Comfrt and HexClad, use its platform.
“We started by helping brands take care of their customers,” said Andrei Negrau, cofounder and CEO of Siena. “Today, brands use Siena to help customers buy and guide decisions across the business. When an agent learns why someone buys or leaves, that understanding should travel with the customer and reach the people running the brand. The same understanding that helps an agent resolve a conversation can help a founder decide what to build next. Our ambition is for agents to manage the entire customer journey with that context.”
Siena’s AI agents can answer customer questions, recommend products and complete purchases through conversations. Its Social Agent also helps brands manage comments and direct messages, while its voice agents use the same customer information to provide more consistent support.
The company says its platform can automate up to 80% of customer interactions across customer deployments.
Siena is now expanding beyond its original AI customer service agent with its “Agent of Record” platform. The system brings customer conversations, orders, subscriptions, reviews, loyalty data and brand knowledge together so AI agents and human teams can work from the same customer information.
“Siena is rebuilding the customer experience stack around customer intelligence, connecting how brands serve, sell to and retain their customers,” said Tom Holahan, General Partner, York IE. “We believe Siena can become as essential to running a brand as its commerce platform.”
The company said the new funding will be used to develop more autonomous AI agents and expand the infrastructure that consumer brands use to improve customer service and increase revenue.
Siena says its platform can also help brands identify broader customer and operational trends. For example, customer conversations can reveal product issues, reasons for returns or factors that influence purchasing decisions.
As brands use more AI agents across different parts of the customer journey, Siena aims to make sure customer information and insights can be shared across those interactions rather than remaining isolated in individual teams or channels.
