Footprint Raises $25 Million in Series B Round

Footprint, an AI platform for financial-crime compliance, has raised $25 million in Series B funding led by QED Investors. MUFG, Commerce Ventures, LightBank, and Alumni Ventures also participated, along with existing investors including Index Ventures, Lerer Hippeau, BoxGroup, Operator Partners, and Animal Capital.

Footprint helps banks and fintech companies automate financial-crime compliance tasks such as anti-money laundering (AML), know-your-customer (KYC), enhanced due diligence, and transaction monitoring investigations.

The company will use the new funding to double its engineering and sales teams, expand its operations, and continue developing Percy, its agentic AI operating system for financial-crime compliance. The funding will also support the company’s expansion into a new San Francisco office.

“With this raise, we’re doubling down on the thesis that risk operations will be re-envisioned for the AI-native era,” said Eli Wachs, Footprint CEO and Co-Founder. “As AI expands the volume of financial crime in the global economy, we’re building the agentic defense system that can expand to meet and defeat it.”

Percy is designed to investigate compliance cases, identify findings and execute standard operating procedures. It can also document investigations with citations, timestamps, and detailed audit trails.

Footprint’s platform is used by FDIC- and OCC-regulated banks and fintech companies including Bilt, Nuvei, and MoonPay. The platform also connects with data providers such as LexisNexis and ComplyAdvantage to help compliance teams verify information.

With the new investment, Footprint plans to expand its AI infrastructure and help financial institutions manage compliance investigations more efficiently.
