Eindhoven-based OWOW Venture Studio has secured €2.65 million from eight family offices and angel investors. The studio will use the funding to build and support early-stage B2B startups, mainly in manufacturing and original equipment manufacturing (OEM).
OWOW plans to invest the new capital over the next few years. It will invest between €100,000 and €250,000 in each startup and aims to add at least three new companies to its portfolio every year for the next three years.
The studio will support both startups created within OWOW and companies founded by external entrepreneurs. The amount invested will depend on each startup’s development stage and business potential.
OWOW mainly invests in B2B startups working in manufacturing, OEMs and construction. It is particularly interested in SaaS and AI, including physical AI applications. The studio sees opportunities in industries where businesses still use old or disconnected digital systems.
OWOW combines investment with product development and market testing. This approach allows startups to develop their products and test whether there is real demand before scaling.
Along with funding, startups backed by OWOW can work with its AI specialists, software developers and designers. They can also benefit from the venture studio’s existing client base and business network to help grow their businesses.
“For every venture we build or invest in, we want to be able to find launch customers ourselves. If we can’t, it’s not a win-win, and we don’t invest. We only invest in the industries we have worked in ourselves for almost fifteen years. We know the customers there, and they know us, “said Robin Dohmen, founder and co-CEO of OWOW.
OWOW Venture Studio is led by Robin Dohmen. Its core team includes Kees van Nunen, Head of Ventures; Vincent van Deursen, Head of Product; and Pieter-Jan Pieters, the founder of OWOW.
The studio also works with specialists on individual projects, depending on the needs of each startup. It has an advisory board that includes experienced professionals from the venture capital industry.
