UltraSight, an AI-powered cardiac imaging company, has raised $24 million in Series B2 financing to expand its technology and commercial operations in the United States.
The round was led by Alive HealthTech Growth Fund, with participation from Deep Insight, Star51 Capital, Connecticut Innovations and eHealth Ventures. Existing investors Mayo Clinic Ventures, NYU and Iron Nation also participated.
UltraSight plans to use the new funding to expand its commercial presence in the U.S. and develop new cardiac imaging workflows for intensive care and circulatory support settings.
The company’s main platform, Echosystem, combines AI guidance, clinical training and analytics to help healthcare professionals perform focused cardiac ultrasound examinations. The system is designed to help trained non-sonographer clinicians capture diagnostic-quality cardiac images under qualified physician oversight.
UltraSight is also working to build clinical evidence for its AI-guided cardiac ultrasound technology. A study published in JAMA Cardiology found that novice operators using AI-guided ultrasound were able to capture high-quality images for automated detection of moderate or greater aortic stenosis. The study reported 93% sensitivity and 96% specificity.
The company said the findings support the potential use of AI-guided ultrasound to expand cardiac screening and help identify patients who may require further evaluation.
UltraSight also announced changes to its leadership team as it enters its next phase of growth. Rick Geoffrion has been appointed Chairman of the Board and brings more than 30 years of experience in cardiovascular devices, including interventional cardiology, circulatory support and structural heart technologies.
Dudi Klein, Tal Wenderow and Barak Ben-Eliezer will also join the company’s Board of Directors, bringing experience in healthcare, medical technology and commercialization.
UltraSight’s software has FDA 510(k) clearance to assist medical professionals in performing cardiac ultrasound scans. The company aims to expand access to cardiac imaging while helping healthcare providers manage workforce and workflow challenges.
The new funding will support UltraSight’s U.S. expansion, development of additional AI-powered cardiac workflows and strategic collaborations to increase adoption of its Echosystem platform.
