Numeral, an AI-powered sales tax compliance platform, has raised $100 million in Series C funding led by Insight Partners.
The round included participation from Salesforce Ventures, Geodesic, Benchmark, Mayfield, FCVC, Y Combinator and Uncork Capital. The latest funding brings Numeral’s total funding to $157 million.
Numeral plans to use the new capital to accelerate product development, expand into industries such as software, manufacturing, distribution and wholesale, and grow its engineering, sales, marketing and product teams.
The company provides tools for businesses to manage sales tax compliance across the entire process, including nexus monitoring, registrations, tax calculations, filings, remittance and exemption certificate management.
Numeral also supports VAT and GST compliance in more than 90 countries and integrates with more than 40 billing, financial and enterprise resource planning systems.
“Sales tax has become a much bigger operational challenge as companies grow across markets, systems and business models,” said Sam Ross, co-founder and CEO of Numeral. “Businesses need infrastructure that can keep pace as rules and requirements change across jurisdictions, without adding more manual work for their teams. We’re building Numeral to provide that foundation, backed by tax expertise and service that customers can rely on.”
The company is seeing strong growth in transaction volumes. Numeral reported a 327% year-over-year increase in total transaction volume and expects its tax engine to process more than 80 million transactions.
Numeral said its customer base is also expanding across software, distribution and manufacturing companies, many of which face changing tax requirements across different markets.
“Sales tax is mission-critical to get right, and the complexity is only growing as regulations expand into new products and markets,” said Rebecca Liu-Doyle, Managing Director at Insight Partners. “We tracked this space closely and saw Numeral consistently deliver — customers repeatedly pointed to the company’s reliability, accuracy, and high level of service. With AI enabling the team to bring sophisticated tax and compliance infrastructure within reach of businesses that previously lacked access, Numeral has a strong foundation for continued growth, and we’re excited to back them through this next stage.”
The platform combines a deterministic tax engine with AI and automation to handle high-volume tax compliance tasks. Businesses can also access tax specialists for more complex questions and requirements.
According to Numeral, customers can reduce the time spent on tax filings and registrations by up to 80% and reduce manual spreadsheet work and filing errors by up to 95%. Its exemption certificate management product can save companies up to 400 hours per year.
Numeral is also expanding its relationships with accounting firms through a new accounting partner program. The program allows firms to refer clients, resell the platform, provide services using Numeral or help clients with implementation.
Founded in 2023 by Ross and CTO Matt DuVall, Numeral previously raised $35 million in Series B funding in September 2025. The company is headquartered in San Francisco and aims to simplify sales tax compliance for businesses operating across multiple markets.
