Wilde, a US-based snack food brand, has raised $40 million in investment from S2G Investments to support product innovation, expand manufacturing and strengthen its brand.
The company plans to use the funds to grow its presence in the protein snacking market and introduce new snack products.
Founded by Jason Wright, Wilde makes protein-rich salty snacks using ingredients such as chicken breast, egg whites and bone broth. Its product range includes protein chips and protein crackers, with more than 10 grams of protein per serving.
Wilde has already surpassed $100 million in sales and expanded its distribution to more than 35,000 retail locations across the United States. The company also sells its products online.
“Building Wilde has never been easy. We started this company to prove that protein snacks don’t have to taste like punishment, and we’ve spent years betting on an idea that didn’t fit neatly into the snack aisle. We stuck with it, built something people crave, and this investment proves that hard work and conviction pay off. Now we have the firepower to go bigger, move faster, and shake up a whole lot more of the snack aisle,” says Jason Wright, founder and CEO of Wilde.
“Wilde has shown you can have better products with high-quality ingredients without sacrificing the taste experience that makes people love salty snacks,” says Arthur Chow, principal, food and agriculture at S2G. “Jason created a standout product with Protein Chips, but what excites us most is the opportunity ahead as a snacking platform. Protein Crackers is among my favorite CPG innovations ever. We’re excited to partner with Jason and the team as Wilde scales into a household brand.”
The funding comes as Wilde expands its manufacturing capabilities. The company recently opened a 130,000-square-foot production facility, which has increased its production capacity sixfold, according to the company.
With the new investment, Wilde plans to expand production and develop additional snack formats beyond its existing protein chips and recently launched protein crackers. The company also intends to invest in its packaging, visual identity and marketing activities.
The investment comes as consumer interest in protein-rich snacks continues to grow. Wilde aims to expand its product range and reach more consumers looking for snacks that combine protein and taste.
S2G Investments’ backing will support Wilde’s next phase of growth as it seeks to strengthen its position in the US protein snacking market.
