Puntr Raises $500K to Build Personalized Sports Fan Experience Platform

Puntr, a Wilmington, Delaware-based sports technology startup, has raised $500,000 in funding to develop software that creates more personalized digital experiences for sports fans.

The funding round was led by Accretion Capital. The company plans to use the capital to continue building its technology and expand its product development efforts.

Founded by co-founders Brad Hunt and Robert Steer, Puntr is developing a personal interface for global sports that creates a persistent identity for each fan across different sports, seasons, products, and screens.

The platform combines real-time sports data with a user’s interaction history to understand individual preferences. It can then deliver customized media, commentary, camera feeds and other engagement features based on what each fan wants to see.

Puntr is starting with a daily skill-based challenge app, which is designed to increase interaction between fans and sports content while helping the company understand their interests and preferences.

The company aims to make the sports experience more personal by connecting fan activity across different platforms rather than treating every interaction as a separate experience.

Puntr will use the new funding to build and improve its personalization software, with a focus on tracking fan engagement across live sporting events, products, seasons, and multiple screens.
