Solace Care, a Stockholm-based company focused on end-of-life care, has raised €2.1 million in a pre-Seed funding round. The company will use the new funding to grow its business and improve its services.
The company plans to expand its partnerships with insurance companies and brokers. It will also enter two new markets, the Netherlands and the UK, as it looks to bring its platform to more customers.
The funding round was led by Spintop Ventures, with participation from Plug and Play. Several experienced insurance and business leaders also invested in the round, including Caroline Farberger, Fredrik Solberg, Emil Lagerstedt-Karlsson, Tomi Yli-Kyyny and Stefan Moritz.
Other investors included Further Than Capital, Mattias Miksche, Krim Talia and Wave Ventures. Solace Care plans to use the funding to strengthen its product and commercial teams while continuing to expand across Europe.
“Today, insurance pays out and then the family is on their own for the next six months,” says Valtteri Korkiakoski, CEO and co-founder of Solace Care. “We are redefining personal insurance, so the support is not only a payment. It should help the family keep going.”
“Life insurance has been sold on the same promise for decades,” adds Erik Wenngren, Partner at Spintop Ventures. “Solace Care changes what the product actually delivers to a family, both before and after a loss. That is rare in this industry, and the team has the operating history to execute it.”
Solace Care was founded in 2025 by Valtteri Korkiakoski and Josef Karakoca. Before starting the company, both founders helped build and grow Mindler, a digital healthcare company.
Solace Care works with life insurance companies and brokers to provide its digital platform. The platform helps people plan their affairs and prepare their families for what happens after their death.
Before a loss, users can use Solace Care to record their wishes, collect important documents and leave clear instructions for their families. They can store this information securely and share it with the people who may need it.
After someone dies, Solace Care helps their family manage the practical tasks that follow. The platform guides them through different steps, including dealing with institutions and paperwork, while also providing human support during the process.
