Sava Raises $10 Million to Modernize Trust Administration With AI

Sava, a next-generation trust company, has emerged from stealth with $10 million in funding led by Gradient Ventures, with participation from Y Combinator, SV Angel, Instacart co-founder Max Mullen, Orange Collective, and SurgePoint Capital.

Based in New York City, Sava is developing AI-powered software to simplify the creation, funding, and administration of trusts. The company aims to make estate planning faster, more transparent, and more affordable for families and professionals working across the $6.5 trillion-plus U.S. trust and estate industry.

Founded by Nimit Maru and Rush Sadiwala, Sava combines modern software with regulated fiduciary services through its subsidiary, Sava Trust Company, an independent corporate fiduciary chartered in Nevada.

The funding round also includes strategic participation from Gusto co-founder Tomer London and Eleonora Sharef, former Head of Private Wealth at McKinsey.

Making Trust Administration Faster and Simpler

Setting up and managing a trust often involves lengthy communication between attorneys, financial advisors, accountants and trust officers. Traditional processes rely heavily on emails, phone calls, and PDF documents, making them time-consuming and expensive.

Sava aims to address these challenges by rebuilding trust administration infrastructure with AI-powered software and human oversight.

Its platform uses AI agents to streamline administrative tasks, including client onboarding, document extraction, compliance checks, custodian data synchronization, accounting, and distributions. Experienced trust officers review and approve the work, while retaining responsibility for fiduciary decisions.

The company aims to reduce onboarding times from weeks or months to just days. Its platform also provides clients, attorneys and financial advisors with centralized, real-time visibility into trust formation, funding, and ongoing administration.

Sava charges a transparent, flat annual fee per trust, helping families and their advisors understand costs upfront.

Expanding Access to Trust Services

Sava is targeting founders, early employees, and professionals who acquire significant wealth through company sales, initial public offerings (IPOs) or secondary share sales. Trusts can help these individuals protect their assets, transfer wealth to future generations, and support charitable giving.

The company allows clients nationwide to establish trusts through its Nevada-chartered trust company while maintaining their existing relationships with attorneys and financial advisors. Clients can also access Sava’s network of vetted attorney partners.

“Trusts are powerful tools for protecting and transferring wealth, and we see an enormous opportunity to make them more accessible,” said Nimit Maru, co-founder and CEO. “Raising our seed funding and launching a Nevada-chartered trust company is a major milestone in our vision to create a better experience for families, attorneys, and advisors. With this funding, we’re investing in our technology and infrastructure to deliver a world-class experience while bringing down costs and making these instruments available to far more people.”

Sava’s leadership team brings experience across technology, entrepreneurship, and trust administration. Head of Trusts Jordan Wolff has more than 20 years of industry experience and previously led trust and estate administration at Hightower Advisors, which manages more than $340 billion in assets under management.

Looking ahead, Sava is developing API infrastructure that will allow fintech companies and financial platforms to integrate trust services directly into their products. The initiative could help expand access to estate planning services beyond traditional high-net-worth clients.

“Forming and managing trusts is unnecessarily complex and messy. When we first met the team at Sava, they already had a clear vision for how to automate the legal and financial components of this multi-trillion-dollar industry,” said Darian Shirazi, general partner at Gradient. “With Nimit’s experience selling a prior company to JPMorgan Chase, we also had confidence that the team would be able to build an AI agentic trust solution that met the expectations of financial regulators globally. We’re proud to partner with Sava and lead their seed round as they bring AI to an industry we believe desperately needs innovation.”

With its new funding, Sava aims to modernize trust administration by combining AI automation, regulated fiduciary oversight, and transparent pricing to make managing wealth simpler for families and their advisors.
