Avante, an enterprise AI platform for employee benefits teams, has raised $30 million in Series A funding round led by Frist Cressey Ventures.
New investors Sorenson Capital, Hearst Ventures, and Morgan Stanley Next Level Fund participated in the round, along with existing investor FUSE.
The latest investment brings the company’s total funding to $40 million.
Avante will use the funding to expand internationally and develop its AI agents, which help benefits teams analyze employee benefit programs, evaluate vendors, manage recurring tasks, and make better-informed decisions. The company also plans to improve personalized guidance that helps employees understand and use their benefits.
Employers are facing escalating healthcare costs and trying to maintain employee benefits. Big companies expect healthcare costs to go up by a median 9.2% in 2027. At the same time, HR teams are managing complex plans, vendors, compliance, and renewals, often with limited visibility and outdated data.
Avante aims to simplify this work through AI-powered tools designed specifically for benefits teams. Its recently launched beta product, Ava Agents, handles recurring tasks and produces completed work for teams to review.
“Benefits teams are responsible for one of the largest and most consequential investments their companies make, yet they’re still operating with outdated information, archaic spreadsheets, and technology built for another era,” said Rohan D’Souza, CEO and co-founder of Avante. “We’re combining purpose-built technology with real-time automation and years of benefits expertise across the AI stack, resulting in 100x leverage for the people whose decisions shape the health, financial security, and well-being of millions. Few areas of work touch people’s lives more directly, and benefits teams deserve technology built for the importance of what they do.”
The platform helps employers assess vendor performance, prepare for contract renewals, identify gaps in benefits programs, and check contracts against claims data. Its AI agents can also review plan documents for errors and inconsistencies and track important deadlines.
For employees, Avante provides personalized, round-the-clock assistance to help them understand their coverage and benefits. Employees can ask questions about their plans, including family benefits and coverage related to a new diagnosis, without having to wait for an HR team member to respond.
“As a physician, I saw again and again how hard it is for patients and their families to find their way through our health care system,” said Senator Bill Frist, M.D., co-founder and managing partner of Frist Cressey Ventures. “Avante is harnessing AI to make that system easier to navigate, so employees get better care and employers get relief from costs that keep climbing. Its team brings rare depth in technology, health care and benefits, and has already earned the trust of leading employers. We’re proud to partner with Avante to reach more companies and make a lasting difference for the families who count on them.”
Since launching 18 months ago, Avante has expanded its customer base and partnerships. According to the company, customers have reported faster analysis, greater benefits utilization, and more time to focus on strategic work.
Companies like Samsung Semiconductor, Real Chemistry, Zscaler and News Corp use Avante to manage benefits costs, support employees in multiple regions and drive more value from their benefits programs.
