London-based Cognitive Credit, a company that provides corporate credit data, financial analysis tools and AI technology, has raised €35.73 million ($40 million) in a new growth investment round.
The investment was led by Summit Partners, a global growth equity firm, with continued support from existing investor ETFS Capital.
“Demand for credit-specialist technology will continue to accelerate from here, and we are pleased to partner with Summit Partners on our next phase of growth. With the imminent launch of DealConnect, ongoing innovation in our AI deployments, and many additional capabilities planned for 2027, we’re offering credit teams the highest quality data and analytics they require for differentiated analysis and high impact decision-making,” said Slater, founder and CEO of Cognitive Credit.
Founded in 2017 by Robert Slater, Cognitive Credit was built by a team of former credit analysts. They understood the challenges of using financial tools designed mainly for stock market investors, as these tools did not meet the specific needs of credit analysts.
The company offers a web-based platform that helps analysts research and assess corporate credit. It brings together verified financial data, analytical tools and specialised generative AI technology to make credit research easier and more efficient.
Cognitive Credit’s platform uses its own database, built by analysing hundreds of thousands of financial reports. It gives analysts access to detailed credit models and original financial reports covering more than 3,500 corporate bond and loan issuers across the US, Europe and emerging markets.
“High-quality data at speed and scale is critical to powering AI workflows that credit professionals will increasingly rely on for high-stakes decisions,” said Chris Bon, a Partner at Summit Partners who has joined the Cognitive Credit Board of Directors.
With the new investment, Cognitive Credit plans to expand its business in the US and develop the next generation of its products. The company aims to make its credit research tools more useful and accessible to financial analysts.
The company is also preparing to launch DealConnect, a product that will give users on-demand access to detailed credit models for private companies through secure online data rooms. It also plans to introduce AI agents for credit analysis and expand its coverage to more companies and credit markets.
