Pro Shop Raises $24 Million Series B to Expand Golf Media Business

Pro Shop, a golf-focused media company, has raised $24 million in a new Series B funding round as it looks to expand its content and live event business.

The round was led by Arthur Blank’s family office, with participation from Causeway Partners and Ares Sports, Media and Entertainment. Existing investors, including PGA Tour, Phoenix Capital Ventures and Powerhouse Capital, also participated.

Founded in 2023 by Chad Mumm and Pro Shop’s co-founder, the company previously raised $20 million in 2024. As part of its earlier growth, Pro Shop acquired Skratch, the PGA Tour’s digital and social media brand.

Pro Shop has also expanded into original video production. The company launched its own studio last year, with Netflix’s Happy Gilmore 2 as its first co-production. The studio also produces Netflix’s Full Swing.

“I think it’s a very positive signal for what we’re building here and what we kind of set out to achieve. With this new funding round, it’s really an expansion of some of the things we’re doing today,” says Pro Shop CEO Joe Purzycki in an interview. “You’ll see an expansion of some of our franchises like Dan On Golf and The Vanity Index Podcast, which is [co-founder Chad Mumm’s] show on Golf Channel, you’ll see us expand our talent base in a meaningful way and really invest in more programming.”

The company plans to use the latest funding to expand its content lineup while investing more heavily in live events. This includes live golf programming as well as real-world experiences for golf fans.

Pro Shop is involved in The Skins Game, a live golf event planned for Prime Video on Black Friday, and is exploring additional opportunities in live sports.

Alongside live programming, the company plans to continue developing scripted shows, documentary series, podcasts and creator partnerships.

Pro Shop’s growth comes as golf continues to attract more players, viewers and digital creators. The company believes this growing interest is creating new opportunities across golf media, entertainment and fan experiences.

The company also expects its relationship with the PGA Tour to become increasingly important as the tour continues to focus on expanding its media and content strategy.
