Haystack Robotics, a Portland, Oregon-based robotics company, has raised $3.95 million in Series A funding to expand its AI-powered autonomous disinfection technology and grow its global operations.
The round was led by an entity associated with Agadia Systems, a healthcare technology company and existing Haystack investor.
Led by CEO Mahadev Eakambaram, Haystack Robotics develops autonomous systems designed to make environmental disinfection more consistent, scalable, and accessible. Its technology combines artificial intelligence, autonomous navigation, and UV-C disinfection to help facilities manage repetitive hygiene tasks.
The company’s flagship product, Violet AI, is an autonomous mobile robot that uses UV-C light to disinfect spaces. The robot can dynamically navigate complex environments without requiring pre-mapped routes, allowing it to operate across different facilities.
Haystack’s technology is designed for use in hospitals, senior living facilities, schools, hotels, gyms, commercial buildings, and other shared environments where maintaining clean surfaces and spaces is important.

The company aims to help organizations strengthen environmental hygiene without adding more work to already stretched teams. Rather than replacing workers, Haystack says its autonomous technology is designed to handle repetitive and difficult-to-standardize disinfection tasks.
Haystack Robotics will use the new funding to continue engineering development, expand its AI-driven software platform, and increase the global deployment of its autonomous technology.
