EZ Bombs, a food startup known for its convenient Mexican seasoning products, has raised $25 million in Series A funding round to expand its retail presence across the United States. CAVU Consumer Partners led the funding round.
The company makes shelf-stable seasoning bombs that help people prepare traditional Mexican dishes with less preparation time. Each pre-portioned flavor bomb combines chiles, aromatics, and spices, allowing customers to add the mixture directly to a pot, pressure cooker, or slow cooker.
EZ Bombs started by selling on TikTok Shop and Amazon. By the start of 2025 EZ Bombs grew from no stores to than 8,000 stores. EZ Bombs products can now be found at stores, like Walmart, Target, Costco, Kroger, Albertsons and Publix.
TikTok Shop Helped Drive Early Growth
EZ Bombs gained attention by showing customers how easily they could prepare flavorful meals using its products. Its first product, the Birria Bomb, simplified a dish that traditionally requires several ingredients, including dried chiles, garlic, onions, tomatoes, and spices.
Co-founder Tina Castaneda showed off the product on TikTok by dropping one seasoning bomb into a cooking pot. The simple demonstration made it easy for people to see how convenient the product was. That clear easy-to-follow video helped spark interest. Played a big role, in the product’s rising popularity online.
According to the company, EZ Bombs became TikTok Shop’s leading food and beverage product in 2025, selling more than one million units on the platform. The company also reported strong live-shopping sales.
New Funding to Support Product Expansion
EZ Bombs offers seasoning bombs for several dishes, including pozole, tinga, chicken chipotle, and chile colorado. The products are designed to simplify cooking by combining the core ingredients needed to prepare each dish.
The company expects to introduce additional Mexican seasoning products to retailers later in 2026. The new funding will support its US expansion and help it meet growing demand as its distribution network grows.
CAVU Consumer Partners will also provide operational support through its in-house team, UNCOMMON. The support will cover retail expansion, brand development, digital commerce, and executive recruitment.
Family Recipes Behind the Business
EZ Bombs began with co-founder Brandon Castaneda’s desire to recreate his mother’s cooking at home. Brandon and Tina Castaneda developed a way to package the flavor foundations of family recipes into convenient, ready-to-use seasoning products.
The company has since grown from an online business into a retail brand with thousands of store locations. Its next challenge will be meeting increasing demand while maintaining product quality and expanding manufacturing capacity.
With CAVU’s investment and support, EZ Bombs aims to strengthen its retail presence, develop new products, and make convenient Mexican cooking accessible to more US consumers.
