Amsterdam-Based Indurex Secures €7 Million for Industrial Cybersecurity

Amsterdam-based startup Indurex has raised €7 million in funding to develop its AI-powered cybersecurity platform. The company focuses on protecting cyber-physical systems, which connect digital technology with physical equipment.

The funding round was led by Contrarian Ventures, a European investment firm that supports early-stage energy and industrial technology companies. Axeleo Capital and Dutch venture capital firm Curiosity also participated in the round.

“Cyber defences in these critical sectors have focused solely on the network. We focus on the core industrial data itself: the engineering, process and safety signals that determine whether a plant is operating within safe limits. Cybersecurity and operational excellence have too often been managed as separate disciplines — Engineering Intelligence is the missing layer, and this funding allows us to bring that capability to more operators across critical infrastructure,” said Bouhdada, co-founder and CEO of Indurex.

Indurex was founded by Jalal Bouhdada and Maarten Oosterink, who have experience in operational technology (OT), process safety, and cybersecurity. The company launched in January 2026 to help businesses keep their industrial systems safe, secure, and reliable.

Indurex serves industries such as oil and gas, energy, utilities, manufacturing, and data centres. Its platform brings cybersecurity, process safety, and engineering operations together in one system called Engineering Intelligence, helping companies better protect their critical infrastructure.

“Electrification is putting more critical infrastructure online, and attacks on it are rising, with the damage felt in the physical world: cold homes, dark hospitals, water that stops flowing. Detection alone is no longer enough. Operators need to understand what an alert means for the physical process behind it. Having built and sold a company in this space, Jalal knows what operators across oil and gas, power and manufacturing need, which makes Indurex one of very few companies that understands both the network packet and the physical process,” said Rokas Peciulaitis, Founder and Managing Partner at Contrarian Ventures.

The funding comes at a time when cyber threats against industrial systems are increasing. Businesses that rely on connected equipment and digital technology are facing growing risks from cyberattacks.

According to the SANS Institute’s State of ICS/OT Security 2025 survey, more than one in five industrial organisations experienced a cyber incident involving industrial control systems (ICS) or operational technology (OT) in the past year.

The survey also found that 40% of these incidents disrupted business operations. Nearly 20% of the affected organisations took more than a month to fully resolve the issues, highlighting the challenges of protecting industrial systems from cyber threats.

Indurex plans to use the new funding to support research and development and expand its commercial operations across Europe and the Middle East. The company also plans to enter the US and Asia-Pacific markets in the future.
