Clementine Raises €1.7 Million to Expand AI Platform for Hearing Clinics

Clementine, a startup based in Maastricht, has raised €1.7 million ($2 million) in Seed funding. The company uses AI to help hearing clinics turn more potential customers into actual patients.

Clementine has built an AI-powered platform that helps hearing clinics manage and follow up with leads. The goal is to make it easier for clinics to connect with people who are looking for hearing care and encourage them to become patients.

The funding round was led by Healthy.Capital, an Amsterdam-based investor that focuses on early-stage HealthTech companies. Its previous investments include Pharmi, MS Sherpa, OpenUp, Datamonk and Clear.bio.

“Clementine combines deep domain expertise with a clear AI platform strategy that can scale globally. We believe this approach will fundamentally change how people with hearing disability engage with hearing healthcare. And that’s impact we like to help scale,” said Douwe Jippes, managing partner, Healthy.Capital.

Founded in 2024, Clementine is based in Maastricht, in the Dutch province of Limburg. The company was started by Vince van de Weijer, who is its founder and CEO. Also known as ClementineAI, the company says it has built the world’s first AI platform designed specifically for the hearing-care industry.

At the heart of the platform is Matthew, Clementine’s AI hearing-care agent. Matthew can speak with potential patients 24/7, answer their questions, explain hearing-care options and help them overcome concerns about getting treatment. It also guides people toward the right care without making them feel judged or forcing them to wait for a response.

For hearing clinics, Matthew can reduce the amount of administrative work for staff and help turn patient calls and enquiries into bookings. For patients, the platform makes communication easier and can help them get the hearing care they need more quickly.

“Clinics don’t need more leads; they need better conversations at the right moment,” said Vince van de Weijer, founder and CEO of Clementine. “Matthew, Our AI Hearing Care Agent, ensures no patient inquiry goes unanswered.”

The Seed funding comes just a few months after Clementine expanded its business through a new partnership with Zoolstra.

Zoolstra is a marketing agency that works with hearing clinics and hearing-care groups across the US and Canada.
