Corridian has emerged from stealth with $38 million in seed funding to develop large autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) designed to transport military cargo and other payloads across thousands of nautical miles without a crew.
The funding round was led by Point72 Ventures, with participation from Balerion Space Ventures, Harpoon Ventures, DCVC, Marlinspike and other defense and technology investors.
The New England-based defense technology company will use the capital to develop its first autonomous underwater vehicle, expand its research and development facility, and hire additional undersea engineering talent. Corridian plans to unveil its flagship vehicle in 2027.
Corridian is developing underwater vehicles capable of carrying large payloads in standard shipping containers over long distances. The vehicles are designed to operate discreetly in waters where military ships and aircraft may face threats. Initial applications include military cargo delivery, intelligence gathering, surveillance and reconnaissance.
The company intends to partner with suppliers outside the traditional submarine industrial base. The idea is to allow the development and construction of vehicles without directly competing for crewed submarine shipyards and suppliers.
Founded in September 2025, Corridian was established by former General Dynamics executives Guay, Greg Barrow, Kyle Arace and Mark Bodnar. Guay serves as CEO, Barrow as president, Arace as chief technology officer and Bodnar as chief operating officer. The founders previously led a portfolio of autonomous underwater systems at General Dynamics, including programs that entered service with the U.S. Navy, Royal Australian Navy and other military partners.
Corridian’s advisory board includes retired Adm. Lisa Franchetti, former U.S. chief of naval operations, who serves as a senior military adviser. Other advisers include former Navy acquisition official Jason Potter, retired Vice Adm. Jeff Trussler, retired Rear Adm. Milton Sands III and national security investor Stephen Rodriguez.
