iPronics Raises $125M in Series B Funding to Scale Optical Networking for AI Data Centers

iPronics, a Valencia, Spain-based company developing optical networking technology for AI infrastructure, has raised $125 million in Series B funding.

The round was co-led by Maverick Silicon and Light Street Capital, with participation from NVIDIA, Triatomic Capital, Bosch Ventures, Catalight Capital, European Innovation Council Fund, The Tate Family Trust, Fine Structure Ventures, Amadeus Capital Partners, Build Collective, and Criteria Venture Tech.

The latest funding brings iPronics’ total capital raised to $177 million.

Founded in 2019 as a spin-off from Universitat Politècnica de València, iPronics develops silicon photonics-based optical circuit switching (OCS) technology for AI data centers. Its platform is designed to help large AI clusters manage the growing demand for high-speed connectivity while reducing power consumption and network complexity.

“Securing this support from Maverick Silicon, Light Street Capital and NVIDIA strengthens our vision as we build iPronics into a new class of optical networking leaders,” said Christian Dupont, CEO of iPronics. “With this investment, we can significantly accelerate our commercialization, delivering the scale our customers need to drive broad adoption and ensuring data centers can fully utilize their GPUs without compromising performance.”

Its flagship product, iPronics ONE, is a rack-mounted optical switch with integrated control, telemetry, and APIs. It allows AI clusters to dynamically reconfigure network connections in real time for AI training and inference workloads.

“The explosive growth of AI workloads has pushed traditional network infrastructure to its power and bandwidth limits, making optical circuit switching more critical than ever,” said Manish Muthal, senior managing director at Maverick Silicon. “We’re proud to co-lead this round and partner with the iPronics team, as they expand commercial deployments worldwide.”

The company says its technology can help improve GPU utilization, reduce energy consumption, and increase AI infrastructure capacity without requiring costly network overhauls.

iPronics will use the new funding to scale operations, accelerate commercial deployments, and meet growing demand for its Optical Networking Engine (ONE).

The company has also opened a new office in Santa Clara, California, to support customer deployments and build partnerships across the U.S. AI infrastructure market.
