Kuro Technology Raises €10M to Help General Contractors Work Smarter With AI

ConTech startup Kuro Technology has raised €10 million in new funding. The company uses AI software to help general contractors manage their construction projects more efficiently.

The funding round was led by UVC Partners, a venture capital firm based in Munich and Berlin with more than €800 million in assets under management. Existing investors Foundamental, Realyze Ventures, and helloworld also took part in the round.

“We see the construction industry as the foundation for progress in Europe. With Kuro, our job is to give it the technical foundation it needs to live up to this continent’s ambition. The general contractors that manage to turn their knowledge into a product will depend less on individual people as they grow,” said Scherer, co-founder and CEO of Kuro Technology.

Founded in 2024 by Lea Scherer and Jonas Minkler. Before starting Kuro, both founders held leadership roles at construction technology companies alcemy and Capmo.

The Berlin-based company now has a team of 16 people. Kuro is building a platform designed to solve some of the key challenges faced by general contractors in construction.

General contractors manage many important parts of construction projects, including sales, estimating, procurement, and work on construction sites. Kuro says these teams can spend around half of their time going through project documents and trying to understand the data.

Kuro’s platform is designed to make this work easier. It processes construction documents and connects the information into a single data model, helping contractors access and use project data more efficiently.

“We’re delighted to be working with Lea and Jonas. We have known each other for many years, since well before Kuro was founded. They bring years of startup experience and deep industry knowledge, which matters a great deal in construction,” said Dr. Ingo Potthof, Managing Partner at UVC Partners.

He added, “And it’s paying off: they are already delivering measurable value to customers with their first use cases in estimating, and are gradually extending the product to other back-office processes such as procurement, accounting, and compliance. The fast-growing customer base of leading general contractors proves their strategy right.”

According to UVC Partners, Kuro’s customers save around 90 hours on each bid. About 70% of users also say the platform has helped them find information they might otherwise have missed.

Kuro’s customers include Goldbeck, Köster, Implenia, Geiger, Riedel, and Hochtief Infrastructure. These companies are among the largest general contractors in the German-speaking construction market.
