Munich-based Depotcharge has raised €2.7 million in pre-seed funding to expand its shared charging platform for electric trucks and grow its business internationally. The funding round was led by High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF), with participation from xdeck Ventures, Kopa Ventures, Prequel Ventures, and business angels from the logistics, electric mobility, and energy sectors.
As part of its expansion, Depotcharge has partnered with the Bundesverband Güterkraftverkehr Logistik und Entsorgung (BGL e.V.) to launch BGL Charge. The new network will provide shared charging infrastructure for Germany’s road freight industry.
Depotcharge helps logistics companies share unused charging capacity at their depots with other electric truck fleets. Many companies are investing in charging stations, but these chargers may remain unused for several hours a day. At the same time, truck drivers may have to use more expensive public charging stations.
Depotcharge connects these unused charging points into shared networks. Depot operators can decide their own prices, access rules, and availability. Depotcharge manages important tasks such as access control, invoicing, and payment processing.
The platform works independently of charging hardware, backend software, and vehicle manufacturers. This allows different logistics companies to use the network without being tied to a specific charging system or truck brand.
Through BGL Charge, logistics companies can make their unused charging points available to other fleets and also use charging infrastructure offered by other participating companies. BGL Charge manages marketing, access control, invoicing, and payments, while depot operators remain in control of their prices, availability, and access conditions.
E.L.V.I.S. AG is also joining the BGL Charge initiative. The company will bring together the charging needs of its partner companies and represent their interests within the network.
Through BGL Charge, companies in the E.L.V.I.S. AG network will be able to access more charging locations. At the same time, their own charging stations can be used by other companies, helping increase demand for charging at their depots.

Depotcharge will use the new funding to improve its platform and expand into international markets.
The company also plans to connect charging more closely with transport planning. This will include charging reservations, open software connections, and integration with existing transport management systems.
