Paris-based Rayon, a browser-based drawing software company for interior designers, has raised €10 million in Series A funding.
The funding round was led by Partech, with support from existing investors Northzone, Foundamental, and Seedcamp.
“What drew us to Rayon is how rare this kind of opportunity actually is. Interior design has been underserved by software for decades, and Rayon is the first team we’ve seen build the design layer this space actually needed rather than retrofitting tools made for architecture. Pairing that foundation with AI at this moment is a genuinely unique window, and we don’t expect it to stay open for long,” said Réza Malekzadeh, General Partner at Partech.
Rayon will use the new funding to launch 3D design tools, add AI features to its platform, and expand its sales and marketing efforts.
Along with the funding announcement, Rayon launched a mobile-friendly app, a presentation mode that lets designers edit and share drawings with clients, and a larger template library. The company aims to serve the nearly €50 billion interior design industry, which it says has been underserved by existing software.
“People open Rayon in a browser and expect a toy web application, but they discover a performance and a feature set that are better than most legacy CAD software. Our superpower is to make professional-grade CAD software approachable,” said Dolla, co-founder and CEO of Rayon.
“Interior design needs its own approach to AI, not a borrowed one. We’re building ours directly into the drawing experience, while staying connected to the AI tools designers already use,” said Chaillou, co-founder and COO/CPO of Rayon.
Rayon was founded in October 2021 by Bastien Dolla and Stanislas Chaillou. The company provides a browser-based platform that brings interior design plans, styling, specifications, and project schedules together in one place.
Designers can upload PDFs, images, and DWG files, create their own design libraries, and work on projects from the planning stage to final execution. The platform also keeps drawings and project data connected, so specifications can be updated automatically when changes are made to a design.
