Sovera Security Secures €535K to Expand AI-Powered Cybersecurity Platform

Danish cybersecurity company Sovera Security has secured €535,000 (4 million DKK) from the Danish Export and Investment Fund (EIFO).

As geopolitical tensions rise, new regulation and the rapid adoption of AI reshape the cybersecurity landscape, European organisations are placing greater focus on how their critical systems and data are protected.

Europe’s cybersecurity landscape is also shaped by its continued dependence on non-European providers for several strategic digital technologies. This is increasing the focus on digital resilience, supply chains, and European control, alongside new regulatory requirements and the growing use of AI.

For European organisations, the question is therefore no longer only how AI can improve cybersecurity, but also where sensitive data is processed, how AI-driven decisions are made and who ultimately controls the technology.

Founded by former LogPoint founder Søren Laustrup, Sovera Security develops cybersecurity solutions designed to help organisations detect and respond to cyber threats while maintaining control over data, infrastructure and critical security decisions.

Sovera operates its own data centre, where it runs the GPUs powering its AI-native security platform.

According to Søren Laustrup, CEO and founder of Sovera Security, cybersecurity is undergoing a major technological transformation: “AI will become fundamental to security operations, but organisations also need to know where their data goes, how AI is used and who ultimately controls critical security decisions. We believe Europe needs its own security solutions built around those requirements. With EIFO’s backing, we can accelerate that ambition.”

Sovera Security will use the new funding to improve its AI technology and infrastructure, grow its team, and expand its sales and market presence across Denmark, the Nordic region, and Europe.

EIFO said the investment will help support the growth of Danish cybersecurity technology in an area that is becoming increasingly important.
