Welltory Raises $2 Million from Braavo Capital to Expand Chronic Care Services

Welltory, a consumer health app used by 18 million people worldwide, has secured $2 million in growth financing from Braavo Capital. The funding will help the company expand Welltory Care, a service designed to support people living with chronic health conditions.

The financing builds on a long-term partnership between Welltory and Braavo Capital. Braavo has provided several million dollars in growth financing to the company over the course of their relationship, supporting its expansion into new products and markets.

How Welltory Plans to Use the Funding

Welltory will primarily use the new financing to support growth and recruitment for Welltory Care. The company plans to expand its specialized support groups and develop services for people whose daily lives are affected by chronic conditions.

Welltory Care brings together people with similar health experiences, physiological patterns and daily limitations. The service combines peer support and practical strategies with personal health data, research and medical expertise.

The company uses digital phenotyping, an approach that analyzes wearable data alongside information people report about their experiences. This helps Welltory identify users with similar profiles and develop more specialized support for their needs.

“Most health products are built for the average user, but chronic conditions aren’t average experiences,” said Veranika Zdanovich, Chief Commercial Officer at Welltory.

She explained that the company’s 18 million users create an opportunity to connect people with similar physiological patterns and daily challenges, helping Welltory develop research and tools for specific groups.

Welltory Expands Support for Chronic Conditions

Welltory launched its first Energy Lab group three months ago, bringing together 100 people experiencing post-exertional malaise (PEM), a worsening of symptoms following physical, mental or emotional activity.

Following strong engagement, the company plans to expand the group to 500 participants. Clinical outcomes are also being collected through an Institutional Review Board (IRB)-approved study.

Over the next year, Welltory plans to introduce additional Care groups focused on migraine, long COVID, chronic fatigue and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).

The company funds its research and product development through its own resources, while the new financing from Braavo Capital will focus mainly on expanding Care and recruiting the people needed to support its growth.

Braavo Capital Continues Its Partnership with Welltory

Braavo Capital has supported Welltory through multiple rounds of growth financing over the course of their relationship. The latest $2 million investment will help the health technology company develop its specialized care services.

“Welltory has been a long-term partner of Braavo, and it’s incredibly rewarding to see the company continue to grow while staying true to its mission,” said Mark Loranger, CEO of Braavo Capital.

He added that Braavo is proud to support the company’s work to improve health and wellbeing.
