Maven Robotics, an intelligent industrial robotics company, has launched with $100 million in Series A funding from RoboStrategy, LocalGlobe, Vine Ventures and XTX Ventures, among other investors.
Founded in 2024, Maven Robotics develops and deploys intelligent robots for logistics and manufacturing. The company says it has built a general-purpose robotics system designed to handle complex industrial tasks.
Maven’s technology combines robot hardware, software and AI to help factories automate physical work. The company initially focused on mixed-case palletizing and tote handling which it estimates represent an $80 billion market. It is now expanding into more advanced material handling and assembly, targeting a market worth more than $1 trillion.
“Intelligent industrial robots promise an incredible future. If we can activate autonomous labor, we can build a world of infinitely elastic industrial capacity,” said Hamza Derbas, Maven Robotics CEO. “We are building the system to make that a reality.”
The company says its robots are already working autonomously across multiple shifts for a Fortune 250 consumer packaged goods company. Maven is expanding deployments with additional customers and expects its robots to complete more than 100000 hours of autonomous operations by the end of 2026 and over 1 million hours by the end of 2027.
“We believe general-purpose robotics has one of the largest market opportunities in technology,” said Jack Pearson, Principal at RoboStrategy, the lead investor in Maven’s Series A. “But there’s a huge gap between a robot that demos well and one that survives three production shifts a day, seven days a week. Maven has a top-tier team with a track record of shipping high performing products, and they’ve taken that experience and built a general-purpose robot designed to meet large enterprise requirements at scale.”
Maven Robotics was co-founded by brothers Hamza Derbas, CEO, and Khalid Derbas, CFO. The team includes professionals with experience at companies such as Apple, Tesla, Rivian, Cruise, Zoox, Ford, and Archer Aviation.
Based in Santa Clara, California, Maven will use its funding to expand its robotics technology, customer deployments, and manufacturing and logistics operations.
