LeoLabs, Inc., a provider of orbital intelligence, has secured up to a $150 million conditional loan commitment from the U.S. Department of War’s Office of Strategic Capital (OSC).
The financing will support the company’s expansion of U.S. radar manufacturing capacity, strengthen its domestic supply chain, and accelerate the deployment of sensing infrastructure for U.S. national security priorities.
LeoLabs to Expand U.S. Radar Manufacturing
LeoLabs plans to complete two large-scale manufacturing facilities by 2028. The expanded capacity will help the company produce and deploy radar systems at a larger scale.
The company expects to add dozens of radar systems to its global network by 2030. The expansion will also support the delivery of sovereign radar systems for U.S. and Allied government customers.
“The U.S. Department of War has challenged industry to move with greater urgency — not only to meet today’s mission needs, but to also anticipate and stay ahead of evolving threats,” said Tony Frazier, Chief Executive Officer of LeoLabs. “This financing, coupled with private investment, enables us to answer that call by delivering our proven sensing capabilities faster and at greater scale to help strengthen U.S. national security.”
LeoLabs’ Radar Systems for Space and Missile Tracking
LeoLabs has developed a portfolio of multi-mission radar systems designed to support space domain awareness, missile warning, and tracking.
Its radar portfolio includes:
- Seeker and Ranger: Fixed-site radar systems.
- Scout-S: Transportable radar optimized for space domain awareness.
- Scout-X: Transportable radar optimized for missile warning and tracking.
Together, these systems are designed to improve coverage, resilience, and operational flexibility for space superiority and missile defense missions.
Supporting U.S. and Allied National Security
LeoLabs said the financing reflects the growing role of commercially developed sensing capabilities in defense systems.
The company has spent the past decade developing and deploying next-generation, multi-mission radars to support current and future national security requirements for the United States and its allies.
The OSC commitment is expected to help LeoLabs expand its manufacturing operations and field additional sensing infrastructure as demand for resilient, globally distributed radar networks grows.
