Phaze, a New York City-based startup developing a remote access platform for people and AI agents, has raised $8.75 million in Seed funding. The round was led by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), with participation from Indie, NextView, Makers and Lerer Hippeau.
The company plans to use the funding to expand its engineering team, accelerate product development and support customer growth.
Remote Access for Employees and AI Agents
Led by CEO Benjy Boxer, Phaze provides a remote desktop platform for demanding workloads across 3D design, software development, IT and other professional applications.
The platform also enables AI agents to connect to and operate company-managed computers through a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server. This allows agents to work in the background while supporting real-time collaboration between employees and AI within the same session.
Phaze aims to help organizations use remote workstations for both human employees and AI-powered workflows.
Enterprise IT Infrastructure and Security
Phaze enables enterprise IT teams to centralize and share high-performance hardware infrastructure. Its platform includes authentication, directory synchronization and audit log controls to help organizations manage access and monitor activity.
The company is developing its platform as businesses increasingly explore ways to connect AI agents with the computers and tools used in everyday work.
Funding to Support Product Development
The $8.75 million Seed investment will help Phaze expand its engineering capabilities, develop its remote access technology and grow its customer base.
With backing from a16z and other investors, Phaze plans to build infrastructure that supports collaboration between employees and AI agents across demanding enterprise workloads.
