Finpilot, an AI-native operating system for institutional capital, has raised $10 million in a Series A funding round led by Lobby Capital, with participation from Madrona. The Seattle-based company will use the funding to expand its team and develop its platform for institutional investment organizations.
Finpilot provides software for institutions that manage large investment portfolios, including universities, public pension funds, foundations, hospital systems and family offices. These organizations often spend significant time collecting financial information from PDF reports, extracting data and reconciling records across disconnected systems.
AI Agents for Investment Research and Reporting
Finpilot brings an institution’s investment data and documents into a single, centralized record. Its AI agents can read incoming reports, update financial information, prepare analysis and track changes across an organization’s portfolio.
The platform is designed to help investment teams maintain accurate records while making it easier to trace figures back to their original sources. When a task requires human judgment, the AI agents can bring the relevant information to the team for review.
Finpilot aims to reduce the time investment professionals spend on manual research and reporting, allowing them to focus more on investment decisions.
“The teams managing this capital make decisions that fund research, health care and people’s retirements,” said Lakshay Chauhan, founder and CEO of Finpilot. “Finpilot’s job is to take the routine work off their plate so they can focus on those decisions. This funding lets us grow our team and bring Finpilot to more institutions.”
“What stood out to us was how Finpilot’s clients talk about it,” said Eric Carlborg, General Partner at Lobby Capital. “These are institutions that rarely change their systems, and they’re making Finpilot the platform their teams run on. Lakshay and the team are building something these institutions will rely on for a long time.”
“Since we first backed Finpilot, the team has kept raising the bar for what it can be while staying grounded in what customers need,” said Sabrina Albert, Partner at Madrona. “The growth and adoption we’ve seen since the seed round have only deepened our conviction, and we’re excited to double down alongside Lobby.”
Institutional Clients
Finpilot says its platform is already used by institutions including Seattle Children’s, Children’s Health of Dallas, Hackensack Meridian Health, TIFF, Blue Cross Blue Shield and the Wyoming Retirement System.
The company supports organizations responsible for managing capital that funds areas such as medical research, healthcare and retirement benefits.
Funding to Support Product and Team Growth
Finpilot plans to use its $10 million Series A funding to grow its team and expand the capabilities of its AI platform. The company is hiring across client success, product, marketing, sales and engineering.
The company aims to enable its AI agents to handle more tasks for institutional clients, including research, reporting, monitoring and due diligence.
The latest investment from Lobby Capital and Madrona will support Finpilot’s efforts to help institutional investment teams manage information more efficiently and make better-informed decisions.
