Gallatin AI Raises $50 Million Series A to Expand AI-Powered Military Logistics Platform

Gallatin AI, a California-based defense technology startup, has raised $50 million in Series A funding to improve its artificial intelligence-powered military logistics software.

The funding round included investments from 8VC, Silent Ventures and other investors. The company previously raised $15 million in seed funding in 2024, bringing its total funding to $65 million based on the disclosed rounds.

Founded to improve military supply chain operations, Gallatin AI develops Navigator, a software platform that helps the U.S. military manage inventory, forecast supply needs and plan the distribution of essential resources.

The company counts the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force among its customers. Its technology is also designed to support commercial logistics partners working with the U.S. Department of Defense.

How Gallatin AI Uses AI to Improve Military Logistics

Military logistics teams manage large amounts of information to ensure that essential supplies reach the right locations at the right time. These supplies can include fuel, spare parts, food and other equipment needed to support military operations.

However, collecting and reviewing supply chain data can involve manual processes, lengthy reports and information from multiple systems.

Gallatin AI’s Navigator platform aims to simplify this work by bringing supply chain records together in a standardized format. It uses AI-powered dashboards, maps and data visualizations to help logistics teams understand inventory levels and identify potential shortages.

The software can also forecast when supplies may run out by analyzing current inventory, historical consumption patterns and changes in demand.

For example, if fuel consumption increases unexpectedly, Navigator can adjust its forecasts to help logistics teams identify replenishment needs and plan deliveries.

The platform also helps users develop resupply plans, identify potential improvements and automate administrative tasks.

Gallatin AI Targets Growing Demand for Defense Technology

Gallatin AI focuses on military logistics and sustainment rather than developing weapons or drones. Its software is designed to help military organizations manage the supplies and resources required to keep equipment and operations running.

The company says Navigator is being used by U.S. military units and can support logistics operations across different locations.

Gallatin has also announced a deal with III Armored Corps, based at Fort Hood in Texas, although the financial terms were not disclosed.

Military logistics has become an important area of defense technology as the U.S. Department of Defense looks for ways to improve supply distribution and maintain operations in challenging environments.

AI-powered systems could help military logistics teams process information faster, anticipate shortages and make better-informed supply decisions.

How Gallatin AI Plans to Use the Funding

Gallatin AI will use the new $50 million in funding to strengthen Navigator’s AI capabilities and expand its engineering team.

The additional investment will support product development as the company works to improve how military organizations collect logistics data, forecast demand and coordinate supplies.

CEO Woody Glier told that much of today’s military logistics data management remains manual and difficult to organize.

Chief Product Officer Brian Ballard said the company’s goal is to make logistics a source of operational advantage by helping teams identify potential problems before they affect missions.

With $50 million in Series A funding, Gallatin AI plans to continue developing software that helps military organizations manage increasingly complex supply chains.

The latest round brings the company’s disclosed total equity funding to $65 million, following its $15 million seed round in 2024.
